#double moral

I recently found myself frustrated because most people in those countries find like a really good idea (and a feminist one) the decision of (a single, i know just one) special screening of the movie Wonder Woman for women. Just women. 

While most people in my country did not see it wise, and I did not see it wise either. And here the only way that could be done is...with an special film of sexual education in a school for girls (hat almost there are no more schools just for boys or girls here).

While some people in those countries say things like since is the first DC super-heroin to have a movie, and she alone being WW, women should be encouraged to go and see it with no men around.

While in the philosophy of my society that same reason means that with more fundamental right more men should go to see it: to watch a women kick ass and not just men.

Feminism in my country and others, the classical one, fought hard to stop the divisions between men and woman in sports, education and all spaces (not toilets XD). And even when the project for an special subway just for women arrived to the senate, everybody was angry, because that was segregation for women and men. (the intention of the project was that a single female subway was good for security against perverts. And people said that that would not stop a pervert, only justice and education would).

But looks like for other countries the key to feminism is to separate women and men again, even in things so simple like going to work and watching a movie.

So, yeah, its just a single screening, men can go and watch it elsewhere. 

Yeah.

But what if it was way around? That a movie like, I dont know, Batman had a single male screening? Like this one. I bet some women would be offended, I would be. And even more if they tell me “you can see it other day, in other place. Dont make a fuss”.

Maybe no one should take this so much to heart anyway. But what gets me about this is the double moral: why is wrong a single screening for men but right one for women.

I was raised with equal education and moral with all my male classmates. And we never had arguments about any of this, because we always got the same chances, did the same activities. And when this news arrived, they felt sort of let down, because many male friends mine are huge fans of WW.

So, well, that. 

"Oh, it's pink! We can't eat that!" versus "It's not pink anymore, that's bad. You're out."
