When a certain Fatuus makes a wish on an abyss-tainted star, his story is rewritten to reflect the desire hidden deep within his heart. However, one's fate cannot disappear entirely. The new life he is given is taken from another. Two unfortunate souls exchange their destinies, and thus the role of Scaramouche disappears, and Beltrame takes center stage in his stead. This simple exchange is enough to send ripples across Teyvat's history, transforming it forever.
This story follows Kaveh and his struggles as the Harbinger Beltrame. After a life full of loss, he is given a glimmer of hope in the form of a bodyguard with an achingly familiar name. Memories of the past begin to catch up with him as he desperately attempts to atone for the many mistakes that plague his history. All the while, he tries to reconcile the messy relationship he's fostered with the infamous Il Dottore.
So I'm working on a fic that centers on HaiKaveh as well as my favorite rare pair, Dottore x Kaveh. This was originally meant to be a HaiKaveh fic, but Dottore well and truly hijacked the thing, and now... I think my crack ship has become my OTP.
During the events of the Sumeru arc, Scaramouche learns the truth of his past. However, after accidentally making a wish on an abyss-tainted star, his fate is exchanged with Kaveh's. This results in a lot of major changes to Teyvat's history, and affects the characters around them in surprising ways.
