I have a wonder piece of gear. A dosage machine. Mine is a Spanish copy of the classic French manual model that was ubiquitous until the 1960s and automation. All was fine this the rubber collars or bungs in the metal spigot started to perish which could leave black granules of rubber in the cider, not a good look. The company no longer makes these and it’s a novel piece not found in laboratory supplies now. So I asked @ClintG a colleague who suggested 3D printing. This started a journey, via the 3D Design studio at Massey University who recommended the food grade rubber for the bung itself and Wellington City Council Library’s Makers Space who made a mold for the bung from 3D scanning of the old bung and then printing an inside and outside form.
