No Equipment Standing Abs Workout
Upper Body Standing Workout w/o Equipment
Lower Body Standing Equipment-Free Workout
I honestly can't recommend Fitness Blender enough. The workouts are straight to the point with different levels of difficulty and navigating their webpage is a piece of cake.
I don’t recommend the app, but everything else? Go for it.
There are also some seating variations, if that’s easier on your back, though I’ll actually have to hunt those down, as I have no idea where they went.
After sitting for hours in a plane, train or automobile, the first thing you might want to do is collapse on your bed. But the best way to get travel agitation out of your system is to work out! Plus, exercise helps you adjust to a new time zone. Whether it’s for business or for pleasure, when you’re traveling, fitness seems to fall...
How to do squats, from Nerd Fitness
Nerdfitness.com has this breakdown about how to do squats, and it’s by far the best explanation out there.
Scroll down to the bodyweight squat. You can practice this one in the comfort of your dorm room, and let’s be honest the meatheads at your college gym are always hogging up the dumbbells anyway.
Nerd Fitness broke down the squat sequence, and provided the following explanation for the setup:
The setup for the squat is incredibly simple. Stand with your feet slightly wider than your hips. Your toes should be pointed slightly outward – about 5 to 20 degrees outward. Look straight ahead and pick a spot on the wall in front of you. You’ll want to look at this spot the entire time you squat, not looking down at the floor or up at the ceiling.
Visit their page for the full breakdown.
Always make sure you understand the proper alignment and positioning of any move before you try it. It’s really, really, really easy to just jump in and start doing something like squats without a full understanding, but that’s how you get injured.
Plus, if you’re not doing them the right way then you won’t get much out of it. Your time is limited, don’t waste it by doing a half-assed workout that could do your body more harm than good.

Dorm Workout: Yoga
Too tired to walk all the way to the gym in the morning? Whether you admit it or not, we’ve all skipped an a.m. gym session or two because our bed was just too cozy.
Now, with this dorm yoga workout, you have no excuse to keep hitting the snooze button. Not only will this video help you wake up and get ready for your morning classes, but it will push you just as hard as any of the equipment at the gym.
What’s your favorite morning workout that actually gets you out of bed?
Dorm Workout: POP Pilates
The POP Pilates series provides beginners with an amazing introduction to Pilates. Cassey Ho is upbeat and encouraging throughout all her videos, and she really does push you to keep going until the workout is over — something that a lot of other YouTubers fail to do.
If you stick with it, Pilates can improve your flexibility, build core strength and endurance throughout your body. The best part about Pilates is it doesn’t require much (if any) equipment, so you can do it right in your dorm.
Dorm workout: Yoga
This is an amazing workout for anyone looking to get into yoga. I've watched a lot of different YouTube videos, and this one provides you with a great explanation of the moves without slowing down the pace of the workout.
The best thing about yoga is the ability to do a lot in a small space. Even in a tiny, overcrowded dorm you can get in a killer workout.
