For Day 2 of @oqpromptparty, I filled a prompt that was sent to me for the DOQ fic that I wrote for Valentineâs Day, Lonely Heart of a Queen. I received two prompts for the first time Robin tells Regina that he loves her. While this is a DOQ fic, this part is just OQ with a brief mention of Mal.Â
Reginaâs eyes flutter open and she grins--a bit shyly and a bit lazily--as she bites down on her bottom lip, watching the way that Robin watches her.
Heâs still between her legs, sitting back with his legs folded beneath himself; and his hands are still holding on to her hips, his thumbs rubbing firm but absently drawn circled into the bone--and heâs just watching, watching as her bare chest rises and falls as she tries in vain to catch her breath, slowly lulling herself down from her high. Her breaths are heavy and labored, and her heart is still beating wildly. Her skin is tingly and flushed with warmth, and her limbs are limp--and if it werenât the middle of the afternoon, sheâd be tempted to let herself fall asleep with him, just as as they are.
âYouâre gorgeous,â he tells her, his voice husky as his eyes trail back up to hers. âBloody gorgeous, you know that?â
âYou mightâve mentioned it⌠once or twice.â
He grins, sighing a little as he pulls himself back and she feels him slip out of her.
Sheâs lost count of how many times theyâve been this way together--happy and content in each otherâs arms--and itâs quite amazing that she has. Sheâs always been a planner, and for most of her life there wasnât a single decision she made that she didnât plan out completely. She was careful to a fault and she knew ever move she made was scrutinized by a group of men who wanted to catch her in the wrong. Yet, here she was--completely oblivious to anything and everything other than him and the way he made her feel. If she thought about it long enough, she could probably figure it out--after all, this had only been going on for a couple of months--but she didnât want to do that. She didn't want to think about it--thinking about it might ruin it, it might make her consider the risks involved and the rational part of her might decide that it was too risky and that a little fun wasnât worth everything she stood to lose. And the thought of giving up these wonderfully lazy afternoons--these stolen moments sheâd come to crave--in this little cottage with its leaky roof and its dusty dirt floors made her sadder than sheâd ever care to admit.
âHow long can you stay?â He asks, rolling onto his side as his combs his fingers through the front of her hair. âIs it wishful thinking that you could be mine until the sun sets?â
âIt is,â she replies, biting harder at her lip. âBut I can take another hour or so, I think.â She turns herself toward him, rolling onto her side. âHenry has an archery lesson.â
âArchery?â He asks, brightening.
âMm,â she nods. âHe saw one of the guards practicing and heâs decided he wants to try it.â
âAnd Iâm sure no one can say no to the prince.â
âNo, they canât,â she laughs. âItâs law.â
âWould it be asking too much for me to show him a few little tricks some times?â
Her breath catches in her throat. âOh, IâŚâ
Her eyes fall away from his. She wants to say yes--in fact, sheâd love to say yes--and she has no doubt that Robin would be a wonderful instructor for her son. She imagines that heâd be patient and kind, and unlike the knight whoâd been tasked with teaching her son to shoot, he wouldnât be doing it out of some sense of obligation or because he had no other choice.
But sheâd never invited him to come any closer and she wasnât sure how she felt about bringing him into her sonâs life. She worried that heâd be confusing for Henry or that the spark between them would fade and her son would be hurt. And though she hated to admit it, she worried how the Council would respond. Any indication that sheâd taken a lover would cost her her crown, and though she didnât care about her title or position, she wasnât ready to force her child onto the throne.
âYou donât have to say yes just because I asked,â he tells her, likely sensing her discomfort. And then, before she can explain, his smile grows coy. âI just figured youâd want him to learn from the best of the best.â
âAnd youâre the best?â
âI am,â he says with a decisive nod. âAnd everyone around knows it.â
âDo they? Because I didnât.â
His eyes roll as his fingers strum gently over her arm. âTo be fair, you and I donât do much talking.â
âWhy would we?â She asks, grinning as a little laugh rises into her voice. âWhen there are much more enjoyable things we could be doing.â
âIt is pretty enjoyable, isnât it?â
âItâs why I keep coming back for more.â
He laughs, âAnd here I was thinking you were here for my charming personality.â
Her stomach flops a little and her grin fades. âI do care about you, Robin. This isnât just sex.â She blinks as she bites down on her lip. âAt least, not anymore.â
âIâm glad to hear that,â he says, his voice soft as his smile shines through his eyes and his fingers continue to strum gently. âBecause I think I love you.â
âYou⌠thinkâŚâ
âNo,â he cuts in, a soft chuckle rising into his voice. âI donât think it. I know it. I know that I love you.â
Her breath catches his her chest and her smile fades--and if her whole body wasnât frozen in place, sheâd pull away from him. âRobin, I⌠I canât⌠Iâm notâŚâ
She swallows hard as her mind floods with all of the reasons that he shouldnât love her--and the one reason that keeps rushing forward and taking precedence over all the rest, is Mal.
Mal, the woman she loves, and the woman she canât ever truly have.
âI know you canât marry,â he says, his voice still soft and his grin still sweet as his eyes narrow. âAnd thatâs not at all why I told you that.â
âBut isnât that the point of falling in love? To⌠to marry and build a life together and⌠and grow old together andâŚâ
Her voice trails off and her eyes press closed; and despite her best efforts not to, she finds herself imagining having that sort of life with him--and she finds that the mere thought of it fills her with a sort of warmth that she didn't anticipate.
And then, she feels guilt stabbing at her core as she thinks of Mal and as she thinks of Henry, and she pushes away those thoughts, not allowing herself to indulge in them.
âMaybe it is to some,â he says easily. âBut not to, and based on your reaction, I donât think thatâs what it means to you, either.â Reaching out, he brushes the back of his fingers over her jaw. âI just⌠I thought you should know.â He shrugs and his grin brightens. âIt doesn't really change much. Neither of us are in a position to marry. We both haveâŚâ His voice trails off and his eyes narrow a bit. âWe both have other, um, obligations.â
âYes,â she says, her mouth dry. âWe do.â
âI donât want to hold you back or complicate your life. I donât want any more than you can give,â he tells her, his voice honest and soft. âAnd I know youâd never ask for more than what I can give.â She nods as a smile draws on to his lips. âI just wanted you to know, so that on the days when you canât sneak away, on days when you feel lost and alone, on days when you feel you canât quite measure up to the impossible expectations put on you⌠youâll know that youâre not really alone, that someone loves you and is on your side.â
âThatâs⌠sweet,â she murmurs, not really knowing what else to say. âIâŚâ
âYou donât have to say it back.â He shakes his head. âI donât want you to say it if you donât feel it or if youâre not ready to.â
Her cheeks flush--and she finds herself wanting to say it back, but the words stick in her throat. Sheâll say it, eventually, she decides, just not now. So, instead, she pushes herself toward him, pressing her lips to his as her tongue parts his lips. She kisses his hard--hard, but not hurried--as she pushes at his shoulder, easing him onto his back as she shifts herself over him. Grinning she breaks the kiss and sits up, pressing her hand to his chest as a smile stretches across her lips and a soft giggle escapes her, and she decides that, perhaps, words arenât the only way to express feelings--and until she finds herself able to say the words, actions will have to suffice.
And as he smiles back at her, she canât help but think heâll mind the substitution.

Serial Killer DOQ for day 3 of @bisexualreginamillsweek - Regina confronts homophobia. In a completely healthy, emotionally stable, and 100% legal manner.
previous murders by our fav killing team can be found here.
people die btw. duh.
Dyke.
Itâs hissed at them, on and off, all night. From the neanderthal sitting in the corner, glaring at them from across the shitty bar theyâre sat in. And itâs making her skin crawl, blood boil, and itâs setts her teeth on edge.
Dyke.
âRelax, darling,â Mal whispers into her ear. âPeople like him? Theyâre nothing.â
Regina clenches her first around her glass, nods, then knocks back her seven-and-seven before signalling to the bartender for another. âLess than nothing,â she mutters.
Dyke.Â
The more itâs muttered, the more she overhears it, the more it begins to sound like them. Like Mother and⌠and him. She feels like sheâs sixteen and trapped in a house of hate and pain all over again. Even as she sits next to one of the greatest loves in her dark, damaged life in a dingy dive bar in the middle of a nothing town in Ohio.
âYes,â Mal says as she leans into her side and rubs her hand up-down-up-down her spine. âSo how about we slow down on the booze for a little bit?â
A sardonic grin spreads across Reginaâs face. âYou and Robin like me when Iâm tipsy.â
âWe like you all the time⌠youâre entertaining when youâve had a few, yes, but I think I know how to calm you down, and being drunk wonât help.â Mal winks, leans in to kiss at the hinge of her jaw as she slips her phone out to tap at the screen one handed.
âItâs our date night,â Regina protests half-heartedly. âAnd itâs Robinâs turn,â she adds when Mal just hums in agreement and continues to trail kisses, each one with significantly more tongue than the last. She bites at her lips and shifts in her seat when she feels her body start to react.
Pulling back, Mal tucks a few loose waves behind her ear and stares into her eyes. âYou know he would love to deviate for this.â
Regina nods, chewing at the inside of her cheek. âItâs too soon.â But her eyes flick up to the grubby mirror behind the bar to see that same waste of a man lookingâglaringâat where they sit.
âIt will be fine.â Malâs eyes spark when her phone beeps, she doesnât even try to hide her smile as she glances down at the text. âHe thinks so too. Twenty minutes.â
Itâs almost too easy.
Mal ups the ante, drapes herself over Regina, each making sure to order several more drinks that they never consumed. Regina forces herself to relax into her hold, less on edge now that they have a solution. Towards the end of their allotted twenty minutes Malâs phone beeps again, this time with a picture of a highlighted route.
All it takes to make sure he decides to follow them is Mal tripping to the bathroom, which had her stumbling right past his table, and knocking over his beer on her way back with a lazy apology before turning her back to him and dragging Regina out of the bar.
Itâs almost so easy that for a second, just a second, Regina pitties him for being so stupid and following them for several blocks, and down an alley. Just for Robin to step out of the shadows behind him and put him in a choke-hold until he passes out.
âEvening, ladies.â Heâs smiling at them, wide and bright as he lifts the man over his shoulder in a fireman's lift. âHow was your date night?â
Regina steps forward to press a kiss to him before stepping back to let Mal get hers. âI have a feeling itâs about to get very eventful.â
Robin winks and jerks his head down the alley. âDown that wayâthereâs a derelict apartment block with a basement.â
Heâs got everything ready for them. A couple of camping lanterns are spaced throughout the room, bathing it in enough dim light to let them see the centre of the basement. Rope hangs from a beam over sheets of plastic, all ready for him to have them tie the manâs wrists above his head and let him go, leaving him hanging there, head lolling forward and his feet barely scraping the ground. Robin stretches duct tape across his mouth, pressing down firmly to make sure itâs stuck.
âMy, my. You have been busy,â Regina purrs as she moves to squat down beside a collection of tools. Thereâs a bucket next to them and three bottles of bleach.
âTold youâI was a boy scout.â
Mal snorts. âYouâre full of shit.â She kisses away the mock-offended look on Robinâs face before stepping back and turning to look at their guest. âTime to wake up Sleeping Beauty.â
âAfter you, my loves,â Robin bows, arm sweeping out towards the man in the middle of the plastic, content to waitâfor now.
Mal ducks down to pick up a hammer, twirling it around in her hand, studying him for a beat before lashing out, and crashing the hammer down to shatter his knee cap, bringing him screaming back to the land of the living. For now anyway. âWakey, wakey,â she coos. âRemember us?â
His eyes dart between Mal and where Regina stands at the edge of the plastic with Robinâs arm around her shoulders. His eyes are so wide she can see the white all around his irises. When he yells, muffled by the tape, Mal laughs. âIâm going to take that as a yes.â
âYou have been known to make quite the impression, love,â Robin teases. âIâd be a little offended if he didnât remember you, to be honest.â
She hums and turns back to face the man suspended in the middle of the basement. âWell. Iâm Mal. And those two over there, are two very important people to me. Robin and Regina. And you,â her voice hardens, velvet covered steel, âyou made Regina feel very, very uncomfortable earlier. Donât you know that homophobia is really rather antiquated nowadays?â
He struggles against his bonds, still screaming at them from behind his gag and Mal rolls her eyes at them from over her shoulder. âYou know, I really donât think heâs getting it.â
âDoesnât look that way, no,â Regina agrees. âPerhaps you need to dumb it down a bit.â
Mal grins, full of teeth and violence, before she is whirling back around to swing the hammer into the opposite hip to his already smashed knee. Regina can feel herself relaxing as his stifled screams grow in volume.
âScreaming wonât help you,â she says when they die off, leaving him panting, dripping sweat down onto the plastic sheets, and his pants darken at the crotch. âI think weâve scared him.â
âI wonder what that feels like,â Robin spits out before he steps forward, picking up a long, thin knife, and tracing it from the corner of the manâs terrified eye all the way down to his hips. âI wonder what it feels like to be scared shitless by someone who doesnât know the first thing about you, by someone who makes a snap judgement of you and yours, all because they donât understand you.â
He doesnât change, doesnât harden or snap as he stares deep into his eyes and says, soft and gentle, barely whispering, âyou know, this could have all been avoided had you not been so ignorant,â and he pushes the knife into his side, inch by inch. The man jerks, his screams racking back up, before they seem to catch and gurgle in his throat. Choking him.
âThis really is your own fault, you know,â Regina says as she moves to lean against Mal, transfixed as Robin pulls the knife back out only to start pressing it through his shoulder.
When Robin had set out the night before he never thought it would be anything other than a fairly routine trip, a chance to further get to know this band of aptly named Merry Men that another version of him had forged a family with. Â Theyâd been hesitant of him at first, some still are, but Tuck has been welcoming. Â Heâs listened patiently and intently to their unbelievable story, then shook Robinâs hand and pulled Regina into a warm hug. Â Since then, the man has become the only true friend Robin could ever claim to have. Â Asking Tuck to accompany him to acquire an item that would change Regina and his lives had seemed natural; as did the endless ribbing he received the entire trip back to the castle. Â It was all in good fun, Robin could tell the older man was happy for him, happy for them, and the jovial back and forth had continued until the ground shook and the skies turned black.
âWhat the bloody hell is that?â Tuck asked, pointing to the east and the billowing darkness that was fast approaching. Â Robin didnât bother to respond. Â Both men quickened their pace as the black magic seemed to nip at their heels. Â It was a race back to the castle that Robin had no intention of losing.
Sheâs standing on the balcony when he enters the courtyard, breathless from the sprint.  He canât see her features, couldnât possibly make out the hardened determination there, but he knows.  Somehow he just knows what she is about to do.  He screams her name as he sees the red of her cloak flutter out with the raising of her arms, but her name is swallowed up by the wind and the CRACK of magic that explodes out of her palms.  He stands frozen below, awestruck at the sight of her wielding such power.  In his mind he always knew her capable, but to see her standing alone against the force of this dark magic, to see her holding it back by sheer strength of willâŚRobin has no words to quantify the mixture of adoration and terror that courses through him.
Regina is at the eye of the storm.  Her magic flows freely, stronger than sheâs ever felt it before and she knows itâs because she doesnât draw on the rage that always simmers just below the surface, but of the image of a boy, realms away, who called her mom and who she will not leave to face this darkness alone.  They just need time.  Her family can escape if she just holds on.  She swears she hears Robin call her name when the force against her is almost too much. His voice carried to her by the winds and it gives her that little bit of strength she needs to hold on. Â
He watches her until the destruction forces him inside and then heâs running again, desperate to reach her while he still can. The darkness pushes; Regina pushes back.  She holds out until she knows she can do no more, until she knows sheâs given her other half every second she possibly can.  Even through the menacing cyclone, she feels him behind her.  She drops her hands to take his, exhausted, as he pulls her to his chest, shielding her as best he can against the inevitable.  She feels his heart beating steadily under her hand before she feels nothing at all. Â
Robinâs watching her now as he does each night from the shadowed corner of her balcony. Â He adores this nightly ritual that she thinks she keeps to herself. Â Loves to watch her undo all the trappings of her alter ego and slip into the skin sheâs growing more and more comfortable with each passing day. Â Heâd spent brief, chaotic moments with the other Regina, but often wonders if she ever stared her demons down the way his Regina does. Maybe heâs biased, but he doubts that she is as much of a force as the woman he watches in the mirror.
He thumbs the ring still in his pocket, flips it over and over between his fingers as his gaze roams her bare back, her curves, but always back to her eyes. Â Heâd thought about being conventional; dropping to one knee, reciting some love sick poetry, presenting the jewel as he bowed before her as if waiting for a blessing to be bestowed. Â But their journey had never been conventional; their love never followed any script. Â In fact it seemed to defy them all. Â She was a woman, split from herself; he, a man that shouldnât exist. Â And yet they had found each other. Â Loved each other in a way that was uniquely their own. Â
His life became an adventure the moment she walked into that tavern. Â It was a slow burn to love (the slowest he thinks) but worth every scorch along the way to be able to say that he has found himself in the dark heart of his not-quite-evil queen.
She runs her brush through hair again, the perfect curl refusing to give up its shape. Â Thereâs a far off look in her eyes tonight, a smile pulling at her painted lips. Â He wonders if she thinks of her son, of the life she gave up for a second chance at a happiness of her own. Â Or of the family that her almost sacrifice helped to save. Â Or of him. Â Or of the simple fact that they are alive after everything and allowed to go on to whatever adventures they create. Â His heart beats faster thinking back on what they could have lost, of how precious each second of life is, and how he doesnât want to squander another moment of it. His mind is made up in an instant and heâs scrawling a message on the parchment in his pocket, pulling thread loose from the cuff of his shirt, and fastening the diamond his lucky arrow. Â (No need tempting fate when his future is so near.)
She doesnât even flinch at the hiss of the arrow past her ear, or the whack of it embedding in her vanity mirror.  Itâs hardly the first arrow that has nearly taken off her head.  She knows itâs his, glances at it with a coy smile before she sees ring hanging from the shaft, still swaying with the momentum of impact. Itâs only seconds before she moves, but it feels like an eternity before she reaches for the ring, holds it securely in her palm as she tosses the string aside and reads his proposal.  Ready for a new adventure?  Her smile is instant, bright, elusive, yet always satisfying.  Itâs the only answer he needs.
She turns towards the balcony and finds him leaning against the wall, bow slung casually over his shoulder, smile matching her own. Â She moves towards him slowly, reaching for his hands when sheâs close enough, letting him pull her forward to close the distance. Â âOk, thief,â Regina says as he takes the ring from her palm and slips it onto her finger. Â âWhere do we begin?â
Pearl Harbor, April 9th 1945. When Robin returns from the war in Europe after three and a half years, it's hard to go back to his old life. He's not the man he used to be, but he knows one thing is still the same. The love for his wife. What happens though, when he's not the only one who's changed? /DragonOutlawQueen / Historical AU / Written for DOQ week day 6
Pearl Harbor, April 9th 1945
Spring is here in its full force. It's never really cold around here, even in winter, nothing compared to the harsh winters he's seen in Europe. Those cold, unforgiving winters which have cost so many people their lives. Without food, without firewood, without homes because they had become victims of the war. Frostbite and starvation, the haggard faces of soldiers and civilians that haunt him, that make him shake his head in an attempt to dispel them. Focus, Robin.
He does - focuses on the hibiscus bush to his left and the flowers which bloom throughout the year and those which just start to blossom now, which make the island of O'ahu an oasis of color. Much better than the concrete desert and destruction he left behind a couple of days ago when he left the sick bay in South England. One can only call it bizarre how some parts of the world drown in death and ashes while this one seems to have more than recovered after the fatal attack of 1941. But that's good. It's good to come home to something⌠whole.
Robin shoulders his duffle bag and makes his way slowly down the street, because well, it's not particularly easy with a damaged hip that makes walking a freaking nightmare. Never would he describe himself as an invalid, a casualty of war. Nurse Claire had reassured him that the limping was barely noticeable and he should be glad they didn't amputate his leg two years ago when his plane got hit by a German Messerschmitt and crashed into the English Channel on the way back to the airbase. The injury may be barely noticeable for everyone else, but Robin knows it's there. That's why he keeps clenching his teeth as he follows the street signs until he arrives at the longed for destination. Finally. The warm breeze of the Pacific makes the palm leaves in front of the coral pink Naval Hospital Pearl Harbor swing gently from one side to the other. It's gentle, caressing, inviting, like the soft touch of a lover. So familiar, yet so very⌠different.
There are construction works going on, a few buildings have been added. The hospital is not the only thing looking different though. Robin hasn't spent much time here before he left, but the few months in Honolulu before the war happened, had been the best of his life. A life he more than anything wishes to go back to. Can he though? Is it even possible? Everything has changed, everything he used to be familiar with is different. The country, the island, the city, the people⌠he himself is not who he used to be. Robin remembers the day they arrived at the harbor like it was yesterday, when they came here with plans for their future but in fact, it has been three and a half years. So damn much has happened. Â
He drops the duffle bag next to his feet as he watches people heading in and out of the hospital, many of them in the same military uniform he is wearing right now, some in marine uniforms and some in new ones he can't identify. They're probably stationed here, waging the war in the Pacific against Japan. Robin wonders how many mates they've lost, what they've been through. Have they been through anything at all or were they like he used to be - young and naĂŻve and hungry for action, to fight for their country overseas? For a split second he closes his eyes, but the noises of battle and pictures burned into his memory start catching up with him, so he does what Dr. Henry Morgan has told him. Take a deep breath and think of your happy place.
Her face forms instantly in his mind with her fair skin, short, perfectly styled dark curls stopping right above her chin, the elusive and satisfying smile from dark red colored lips he thinks of every time he closes his eyes. And then there are the dark brown orbs, the ones that change their color depending on her mood and the light, the ones he can get lost in over and over again. Every time he thinks of her she's wearing the little white nurse dress with a hat - the one she hated because it would never stay in place no matter how many pins she would fasten it with. It's the outfit she wore when they first met back in New York what it feels like a lifetime ago. He used to carry her picture in his chest pocket but he'd lost it in the plane crash, something he's never really gotten over. All he's left of her is the ring she gave him on their wedding day, the one that hangs around his neck with the pair of dog tags that doesn't belong to him.
Three and a half years, thousands of kilometers and a world at war between them. Yet he found his way back to her, he survived. She was the face that kept him going when he couldn't remember, her voice was the one that spoke to him when he was lost in the darkness, when he almost drowned in his plane in the English Channel. Even when his memory was lost his subconscious could still remember her. The question now is - what does she remember of him?
Robin's breath hitches when he sees her exit the hospital, clad in her nurse uniform with the ridiculously cute little hat that doesn't seem to sit just right and a dark brown woolen jacket. It's her, he knows it's her even if her hair is a good three inches longer, falling softly over her shoulders and her skin tanned. He'd recognize her anywhere. His heart is beating rapidly as she comes closer, laughing at something and damn he missed her so much he has to suppress the urge to just call out for her. She's flanked by two women, one of them he almost doesn't recognize. There's Mal with her perfectly styled blonde hair and signature red lipstick, accompanied by an aura of pure authority that always scared the hell out of him. Is she even still head nurse? But then his eyes wander over to the other woman. Long dark curls are gone and her once innocent face is now framed by a short pixie cut that makes her look older, much more mature even though her skin is as fair and resistant against the Hawaiian sun as ever. The weight of the dog tags around his neck becomes unbearable for a moment, dragging him down so much he almost loses his balance. Mary Margaret.
Whether it's his sudden movement or just coincidence he doesn't know, but Mal spots him first. Sharp blue eyes are boring into his, wide with surprise as her lips part slightly. Regina's laughter fails as she casually bumps into her friend's shoulder, probably asking her what's wrong before taking her hand and squeezing it lightly. Mal holds onto it, whispering something he can't hear because he's too far away, but he can see Regina tense and hold onto her friend's hand even tighter.
A high pitched scream disturbs the silence as Mary Margaret sinks down onto her knees, one hand lingering on her lips while the other points directly at him. Robin rips his eyes away from Mal over to the brunette kneeling on the floor shaking and it is only then that Regina follows Mary Margaret's pointed finger and spots him. She looks at him as if she's seeing a ghost, her hand clasping Mal's so tight he can see the white of her knuckles shining through.
For so long he has waited for this moment, has dreamed about it, has imagined every possible scenario of her running toward him, running away from him, waiting for him to come to her. And every time he knew exactly what he would do but today⌠today he feels frozen on the spot.
A/N: I couldnât think of anything fun for this day, so I set it in the Heroes & Villains verse because who doesnât love Bandit!Regina? Â Thanks as always to @repellomuggletum15 for the beta!Â
Regina steels herself and opens the heavy door to the tavern, preparing for the worst.
This place is off the beaten road, unlikely to draw in the Queenâs guards and spies, and thus itâs become sort of a safe haven for runaways and criminals. Â Regina is both these things, and cannot afford to eat and drink and warm herself at the safer, more well lit places near town. Â So when she has a bit of coin, and when her clothes are soaked to the bone, she wanders in for a pint of ale and some of the warmth of the fire.
Sheâs one of the few women who frequent the tavern while they are off the clock. Â There are working women there, bar maids and harlots alike. Â But women customers? Â And single ones at that?
She stands out, so she tries to avoid going to the tavern at this late hour, except when itâs necessary. And itâs necessary now, as itâs pouring down rain, and she desperately needs some shelter, and some heat.
Sheâs readied herself for the hoots and whistles sheâs grown accustomed to every time she steps inside the rowdy bar. But this time, thereâs not a single sound to be made.
She looks around, puzzled. She should be relieved, is relieved, to finally not have a captive audience watching her every movement.
âYouâre not the only act in town, sister.â Â The bitter dwarf scoffs at her, rolling his eyes at her as she makes her way up to the bar. And then she looks around to see exactly what that idiot had been referring to.
The eyes of the entire tavern are on the woman with the wavy blonde hair in the corner.
Regina takes a moment to admire her.
Sheâs wearing a dress, still, but itâs soiled and damp. Â Her hair is tangled and untamed, with bits of leaves stuck in some of the strands. Â It has probably been awhile since sheâs had a real place to sleep.
âThatâs Maleficent,â Granny says, handing Regina a pint. Â âThe Maleficent. Â God knows how she got all the way over here. Â The girlâs wanted dead or alive by Queen Aurora. Between you and her, Iâm making enemies with two of the most powerful sorcerers in the land. Â The queens will probably have a showdown right here and burn the place. Â So thanks for that.â Â The old lady frowns. Â She talks a big game, but Regina knows Granny worries about her, about almost all her customers. Â When she had nothing, Granny dropped her a key and told her to keep warm for the night, on the house. Â She justified it of course, by saying that if Regina died, sheâd lose a loyal customer. She was only investing in the girl, hoping to get many years of drinks out of her.
The next time she handed her a room key, Granny said it was because she had become an attraction of sorts at the tavern, and if Regina died sheâd lose a âfree showâ.
So yes, the woman cares. And it shows, in the way she looks at her, with that glimmer of worry. Â âYou should talk to her. Â Give her some tips for the bandit life. Â Sheâs holding her own quite well here, but Iâm not sure how sheâs lasted this long. Â She does not look well.â
Granny hands Regina a key without a word as to who itâs for or why sheâs giving it to her. Â She thinks sheâs supposed to give it to Maleficent. But hell, itâs pouring down rain and she is cold and tired of the forest floor. Â Sheâll keep the room herself unless itâs taken away from her.
Regina makes her way to an open seat. Â She glances at the men congregating around Maleficent and rolls her eyes. Â The woman is doing well though, batting away hands, her face screwed into a glare so deadly that Regina can feel them from over here.
Sheâll have to learn how to make that face, because it seems to be working. Â
âSheâs worse than the ice queen over here,â grimaces one of the barâs regulars, pointing in Reginaâs direction.
âIâve always wanted to meet an ice queen,â Maleficent drawls, motioning for Regina to sit next to her. Â âCome here little one, letâs be frosty together.â
Regina likes to keep to herself, to find a place as close to a fire as possible and sit while her wet clothes warm and dry. Â But she finds this woman so intriguing, she wants to talk to her. Â And not out of some obligation with Granny, either.
So she grabs her mug of ale and moves to her table, sitting where a disgruntled drunk has just left, cursing about Maleficent being some sort of tease.
âYou must be Regina,â Maleficent says, holding out her hand. Â âIâm Maleficent. Â Though Iâm sure you know that.â
Regina nods.  âIâve heard of you⌠but Stephanâs⌠I mean Auroraâs kingdom is far from hereââ
âYes, wellâŚâ Maleficent looks down at her soiled dress and sighs.  âI was doing just fine.  I had made quite a life for myself in the neighboring kingdom.  But then⌠Aurora employed the use of fairies.â She wrinkles her nose.  âRather unpleasant creatures.  They put a locator spell on me and found me an instant.  I escaped from the dungeon knowing it was only a matter of time before I was caught, unless I ran far.  Even here⌠Iâm not sureâŚâ
She looks around, making sure none of the men are currently looking at her. Â Thankfully nearly all of them have their eyes focused on a newly erupted bar fight on the opposite end of the room. âI traded nearly everything I had for this. Â She grabs at the necklace she is wearing, to free the pendant that is currently hidden in her cleavage. Â
It glows bright green.
âPixie dust?â Regina asks.
âAnti-pixie dust. Â Fairy repellant. Â Makes me invisible to the little blood suckers.â She puts the vial away, safely sandwiched between her perfect breasts. Â
âOf course, this means I have to start over. I stole this from a clumsy merchant,â she looks at her dress grimacing. Â âItâs not my style. but it was better than the burlap sack I was wearing before. The sea witch needed the clothes off my back to make this.â
âUrsula gave you this?â Regina asks incredulously. Â She has always been fascinated by Ursula, so many myths about her. She admires the woman, so resilient after the entire sea has been set against destroying her.
Maleficent nods. Â And then she leans over to a nearby drunkâs messenger bag and scoops up an apple. Â She grabs a knife from somewhere (perhaps it was in her boot) and starts to cut it into slices. Â
âIâve been on the lamb for years, little bandit. Â I keep my ears and eyes open. Â Iâve had plenty of time to build favors and make connections. Â Unfortunately I had to call in every last one to get to this. But itâs been two weeks and thereâs not a fairy in sight, so Iâll take it.â
âI heard you were a fairy,â Regina whispers, âor some sort ofââ
âWitch?  Yes, so Iâve heard.  I feel thereâs something inside me I havenât harnessed butâŚâ  She throws the knife she holds up in the air.  It spins and tumbles up, then boomerangs down and falls into her hand, the handle right against her palm, the sharp blade pointing away from her.  âSo far my talents are quite⌠ordinary.  Now, Iâve heard you are anything but ordinary.  Please, tell me the story of the masquerade ball heist, Iâve heard it many a time, and still donât believe it.â
They trade stories then, enjoy each otherâs company. Â The men around them are shut out, ignored. Â Until a particular man makes his entrance.
âWell, if it ainât the prince of thieves!â The dwarf shouts. Â Regina canât help but glance up, finding the handsome thief staring back at her with those annoyingly beautiful blue eyes. Â He smiles and winks at her. Â And then he must notice the woman next to her, because he cocks his head a bit as if to say Who is she?
She sees John whispering something into his ear and assumes that he is explaining the identity of the blonde woman next to her.
âWell, I wouldnât mind sharing a hay tick with that specimen over there,â Â Maleficent whispers in a sultry tone. Â
âWho?â Regina asks innocently. Â
âWho do you think? The gorgeous one.â Mal points directly at him. Â Regina fights the feeling of jealousy in her, the voice inside her head that keeps repeating Mine. âWho is that anyway?â
âRobin,â she breathes, staring back at him.  He must be celebrating.  Thereâs plenty of ale being passed around, and men keep slapping him on the back. Heâs laughing and talking animatedly about something⌠but his eyes keep wandering back to her, offering her that smile of his that makes her heart skip a beat.  She glances back at Maleficent who has her eyebrow cocked up, and itâs only then that Regina remembers she didnât fully answer her question. âHood,â she corrects, âRobin Hood. The thief.â
âOhhhh, Robin is it?â Â Mal says, mimicking her earlier smitten tone.
âWhat?â Regina dares, scowling at her.
âSomeone has a crush.â
âOn him?  Not in the slightest.  Weâre competitors, but he⌠well, we help one another out.  Heâs not⌠horrible.â
âMmm,â Mal says, her eyes never leaving Robinâs.
Regina canât help but look at him too, and she misses Granny approaching until sheâs slamming plates down on the table. Â âThis is from the gentleman â and he did tell me to call him that, just so you know â over there.â Â Granny points at Robin with a roll of her eyes. Â But she likes the thief, Regina can tell by the way she smirks and smiles.
Itâs a loaf of crusty bread and a large bowl of that hearty meat stew, clearly meant for the two of them. Reginaâs stomach grumbles.  Itâs been too long since she felt full, and this meal could make her feel just that.  But⌠itâs charity.  She doesnât take charity.
âTell the gentleman to save his money,â she grumbles, âIâm more than capable of getting my own food.â
âThen why are you so god damned bony?â Granny mutters. Â âAnd he specifically said to give this food to you two ladies, so this time, Regina, you donât have the right to refuse.â Â She turns to Maleficent, waiting for her response.
âGive him my thanks,â the blonde responds, breaking the bread hungrily.
When Granny leaves, Maleficent leans in, a knowing smirk on her lips. âI think your crush reciprocates your feelings.â
Regina rolls her eyes. âHe doesnât. Â And I wish you wouldnât have done that.â
âRegina, darling, weâre bandits, weâre outlaws. Â Thereâs no sense in saving face. Â We take what we can get in this world. Â Iâve been at this long enough to know that wounded pride hurts much less than an empty stomach. Â Or the pain of illness that comes from malnourishment. Â Eat up.â
And so she does. Â She downs the last of her ale (which was supposed to be her dinner) and ravishes the stew and bread. Â Gods, she was hungry.
She glances up at Robin, half expecting him to be looking smugly at her as she finishes her helping of stew, but his attentions are on his men now. Â
Good, she supposes. The last thing she wants is to see that smug little smile on his face as he stares at her from across the room.
She wonders what great sting heâs participated in this time, and how successful it was. Â If he can afford to be buying this amount of bread and ale, she assumes it was quite successful. Â
He usually invites her over. Usually comes up to try to charm her, and they banter and trade insults until he leaves.  She tells herself she finds it incredibly obnoxious and dull. But now that he is standing at the opposite end of the tavern, laughing and gabbing with everyone but her, it feels like, well⌠she finds she misses it.
She puts those thoughts aside, and focuses on her new friend. Â Who has time for men, anyway? Â Especially when there are interesting women such as Maleficent.
When Granny shouts that it is the last call for drinks, Regina thinks of her key.  Perhaps her new friend deserves a good nightâs sleep more than her.  ButâŚitâs raining out, and her fur is still damp, and sheâs unwilling to let this room go.
âThe tavern owner over there â Granny, as she likes to be called â she gave me a room for the night.â She shows her the key. Â âItâs most likely one of the big rooms that no one can afford to pay for. Â If youâve nowhere else to sleep, I suppose we could split the room.â
Maleficent smiles broadly. âI do like that idea.â
They slip upstairs, Regina pausing to steal a glance at Robin. Â Heâs three sheets to the wind now, a hand on that new barmaidâs hip as he makes her laugh and laugh. Â He doesnât even notice sheâs leaving.
So much for that crush, huh?
She swallows the bitter resentment down, that green and envious feeling she has no right to feel. Heâs not hers. Â
And she doesnât even like him, anyway.
.::.
The room is fit for the queenâs guards, should they ever wander to this abandoned corner of the forest. It comes with a fireplace and a tub. The fire is going already when they walk in, a cauldron of water already on the hearth.
âWell, little bandit, it seems the thief isnât the only one youâve charmed. Â This is quite the room.â
Regina smirks. Â She doesnât mind admitting that sheâs a favorite of the old woman. Â Besides, sheâll steal some chickens for her and deliver them to her kitchen like she always does. Â A proper payment for the room and the service at the tavern.
âOh christ, itâs a bath.â Â Maleficent moans, running to the fireplace. Â âHelp me carry this over there.â
Itâs a heavy, full caldron of heated water. Â There are buckets of cool water nearby, to mix, and when theyâve filled the tub with all of it, the end result is a perfect, warm bath Regina would just love to sink into. Â But Maleficent deserves this more than her. Â Her body itches with jealousy as she watches her undress.
âI left my modesty with all my belongings back at the waterâs edge.  I hope you donât mind,â Maleficent gropes at the lacing of her dress and pulls it apart.  She slides it off her body, and⌠well, sheâs quite the sight.  Years of living on the run has done nothing to harden her curvy female figure.  Sheâs⌠gorgeous.
Well, at least this will distract her from thoughts of Robin and that wicked woman in the tavern.
Regina has always known this about herself, from a young age sheâs known the thoughts and attentions sheâs paid to other females isnât exactly⌠the norm.  She knows what the other noble ladies had to say about women like her, women who feel this way about other women.  She bites back the feeling of shame that courses through her, a reflex, residual pain from a previous life she should have all but blocked out.
Those judgy women arenât here. Â And Queen Snow may have made such thoughts and acts illegal, but the woman cannot see into her damn head. Â
Negative thoughts all but leave her mind when Maleficent leans over the tub, testing the water with her hand. Â She looks gorgeous bent over like this. Â Reginaâs breath catches in her throat, and she does her best to look away as the blonde enters the tub, letting out a sinful groan.
âOh gods, Regina, this feels so goodâŚâ she moans, âCanât tell you how long Iâve been dreaming about a warm bath.â
âYes, must be nice.â Regina canât quite keep the bitterness out of her tone, as her envy overwhelms her. Â She finds some towels, and hell, she can maybe rub out some of the grime with them. Â Her leather rucksack has her change of clothes. Â She can dry her current clothes by the fire. Â If she wonât be nice and warm, at least they will be, by morning.
She tries her best to shield herself from Maleficentâs sight so she can remove her clothes. Â
 âRegina, arenât you coming in?â
What?
She turns abruptly at the question and looks incredulously at her.  Maleficentâs hair is soaked with water now. Curly strands frame her face in a way that looks so positively delicious.  She wants to run her hands through her hair, wants to feel those wet locks in her fingers as she kisses her.  âI⌠are you asking me to share this little tub with you?â
âMmhmm,â Mal hums. âItâs only fair you get to share. Â I wouldnât be here if not for you.â Â She raises an eyebrow and cocks her head. Â âUnless youâre uncomfortable with the idea. Â Afraid of me?â Â Her voice goes deeper, and itâs both seductive and taunting. Â
And hell, the idea of soaking in the heavenly warm water sounds amazing⌠and sheâd be lying if she said she doesnât want to touch and feel the wet, slippery skin of the beautiful woman before her.  So she puts aside the worry that she may embarrass herself by gawking too noticeably, and focuses on proving she isnât afraid of anyone or anything.
Sheâs careful to undress by the side of the tub, so she isnât directly in Maleficentâs line of vision. But she feels her eyes on her, and when she dares to look up, she catches her staring.
Her cheeks flare red, but Maleficentâs do not. Â She just smiles, and continues to stare at her.
Regina removes the last of her clothes, and her hands fly over her most private areas on instinct. It draws a small chuckle out of her new friend, just a light little bubble of a laugh that she tamps down quickly. Yet, itâs  enough to make Regina embarrassed of her modesty.  She removes her hands and enters the tub from the opposite end of Maleficent.  Itâs small, but she fits, sitting down between that gorgeous womanâs legs. Reginaâs own legs are bent at the knees, her feet precariously close to Maleficentâs core.  Itâs a bit dangerous, a bit unexpectedly thrilling, being all wet and close and naked with a beautiful stranger.
But she does not seem like a stranger, not really. Â She feels as if she had known Maleficent her whole life.
âYou are beautiful,â Maleficent murmurs, eyes burrowing themselves deep into Reginaâs body.  She doesnât hide her predatory stare, has no intention of ignoring the obvious physical attraction they have for one another. But⌠well⌠this is new for Regina. She blushes, and babbles incoherently before finally managing to offer a You too.
The captivating woman reaches to a nearby table and grabs a bathing rag and a rope of soap.  She soaps up the rag and hands it to her.
âSorry, donât want to be keeping all this soapy goodness for myself,â she says seductively. Â âWash up.â
âThank you, Maleficent.â
âYou can call me Mal, little one.â
Mal. Â Regina nods and swallows heavily. Â And then she focuses all that wanton desire, channels it into ridding herself of the grime of the forest that she carries on her body.
Thereâs stubborn dirt thatâs clinging to her, pieces of debris sheâs longed to wash out, but the river is too cold this time of year  for her to get a proper bath.  Regina scrubs her arms and shoulders vigorously, paying special attention to her filthy hands.  The dirt lifts away, and she feels more like herself, here, in this tub sheâs sharing with an alleged witch, than she has in ages.
When itâs time to clean her chest and torso, she has a shy moment.  Mal has been watching her, mouth parted, eyes sparkling.  Regina feels her insides turn liquid, desire flaring up even more than it had already.  She wants⌠she does not know what she wants.  Not really.  Well, she wants to touch her.  To kiss her, to trace her curves with her tongue⌠where did that thought come from?
Regina takes a deep breath and washes her breasts, her pert, tight nipples far too hard for such a warm bath.  She lifts a leg straight up to wash it, and thatâs when she realizes sheâs won.  Mal lets out an indulgent moan, and now looks more⌠affected than amused.
She does the same with the other leg. Â Mal licks her lips and hums.
âYouâre a limber little one, arenât you?â Mal murmurs, âBut as flexible as you are, I bet you canât wash your own back. Â Turn around, let me get that for you.â
Well, the prospect of sitting between Mals legs while she rubs at her back does not sound bad in the least. Â She stands in the bath and spins, situating herself torturously close to the object of her desire.
âYou have beautiful hair,â Mal says, swiping it aside to rub the expanse of her neck. âSo shiny, so soft.â
âYou do, too,â Regina purs. Something about not having to face Maleficent makes this⌠easier.  The rag rubs gently as her skin tingles and turns to goose flesh.  She moans a bit when Maleficent finishes rubbing, feeling the loss of her touch too acutely.
âTell me, have you ever been with a woman before?â Â
The question shocks her, has her gasping audibly, then blushing (thank god her back is turned).
âN-no.â She recovers a bit, and adds, âIâve been with a man before.â
Mal scoffs. Â âAnd so have I. That doesnât mean much, does it?â She reaches for a pitcher of tepid water and pours some over Reginaâs head, then repeats the action. Â Itâs oddly soothing, sensual, as she plays with her wet hair, combing it through her hands. Â âDonât get me wrong. Â Iâm not blind, I see the way you look at that thief.â Mal lathers soap into her hair while scraping slightly at her scalp. Â âBut you are like me, are you not?â
Like her. Â
Sheâs not blind, either, it seems.  And she hasnât misinterpreted Malâs stares.
âYes. Â I am like you,â she agrees, in a voice that sounds surprisingly strong.
âSo you are.â
Reginaâs insides grow white hot. Â Thereâs a bit of a pulse she feels down below, a subtle throb that makes her want for things she should not. Â She wants to touch herself, or maybe be touched, by this beautiful woman she barely knows, until the ache between her legs is soothed.
She never feels like this, not for anyone but Robin, and he⌠heâs not an option.  Heâs too busy with his men and his barmaids and his mind games to ever start something with the likes of her.  And hereâs a woman she wants, who is warm and willing and she suddenly feels like a little virgin, unable to know what move to make next. Â
Mal pours more water over her head, washing away the soapy bubbles. Â She repeats the action until her hair is clean and free of the suds.
âMy turn,â Regina breathes. She needs to touch her, to put her hands on the creamy flesh of her back and neck. Â Regina turns around, prepared for Mal to do the same so she can wash her back. Â
Mal doesnât turn her back to her yet.
âHmmmmâŚâ she says instead, running a hand through her hair, skimming through the locks that frame her face before shifting to slide down her jaw, to her mouth, letting fingers dance over each lovely lip.  She cups her hand over her chin.
âI think itâs still my turn.â
It feels so natural, the way they meet for that first kiss. Â Itâs sweet, just a peck, and then Regina draws back to check Malâs expression. It seems unbelievable to her that a woman so perfect, so strong, would want her.
Itâs Mal who draws her back for a longer, deeper kiss.  Tongues meet and dance and smack together.  And one kiss becomes another.
And another.
And another.
Kissing her feels good. It feels right. Â Sheâs only kissed Robin once. Â It was a mistletoe kiss, nothing serious. Â But sheâd kissed him good and proper as he would say, deeply and truly, and itâs the only time a kiss has felt like this does now, with Mal.
Itâs only been with Mal and Robin that sheâs felt this need, this desire to go further, to touch and press her body against theirs, and oh!
Mal touches first, a hand gropes expertly at her breast while her other grips underwater at her hip, moving slowly down, downâŚ.
God, to be touched there by someone she actually wants touching her, the mere thought is justâ-
Thereâs a loud knock at the door, a frantic, uncoordinated thing, but loud as the hounds of hell. Regina and Mal both part from the kiss, moving to get out of the tub with a stealthy reaction of those who have spent too much of their lives hiding from certain death.
âReginaaa!!!â a voice cries.
She knows that voice.
âShit,â she whispers, scrambling out of the tub. Â Mal looks confused, until Regina motions for her to stay where she is. Â She nods, and sits back down.
The knocking is louder now.
âRegina please open the door, please, I beg you.â
She grabs a towel and makes her way towards the door. Â The blasted thing is small, and sheâs barely able to cover her breasts and ass at the same time, but it will work for this.
âWhat do you want?â she asks, cracking open the door ever so slightly.
âI need to talk to you, donât do this, please Regina.â
He looks⌠well, drunk. But also desperate and sad.  Sheâs not sure what has brought him here, on a night where he was so obviously celebrating.
âDo what?â
âI⌠I was looking for youâŚâ Heâs craning his neck, trying to see whatâs behind her, âI⌠I care for you so much Regina, youâve no idea what you mean to me.â
Sheâs unable to get that image of him with the barmaid out of her head. Â She rolls her eyes and sighs. Â âYou have a funny way of showing it. Â Why donât you go back to Ingrid?â
Robinâs eyes go wide, and he shakes his head furiously. Â âBecause I care nothing for Ingrid! Â Her father is a guard at the dungeon, Regina, she can get me a key and find me a way to get those prisoners out and freed, thatâs all it was, thatâs all it ever was.â
She looks at him skeptically, trying to hide the relief that washes over her.  She knows heâs been trying to free the wrongfully accused for months, but the dungeon is well guarded, and the inside is one long, confusing dark maze.  And well, maybe itâs wrong, to be happy he hasnât moved on and into some womanâs bed when thatâs exactly what she was about to do (god, she hopes it was) but⌠well, she rather likes Robin unattached.
âWhy are you here?â She asks, her lips curving into a smile.
âI was looking for you, and John said, he said you went to a room, that you were sharing a room with someone and I would lose you forever, and you need to know, Regina, you need to know, Iâve fallen completely in loâ â
A warm wet body slides behind her, and opens the door just enough for him to see.
Mal wraps her arms around her somewhat possessively, peering over Reginaâs shoulder at a startled Robin.
âI know youâŚâ  she purrs at Robin before dropping a very small, sweet peck to Reginaâs shoulder.  âThe good looking thief who gave us bread and stew.  And what can we give you, Prince of Thieves?â
Regina is frozen in fear, in shame, inâŚ.
The thiefâs eyes grow wide. âIâIâmy god, Regina, milady, Iâ had no ideaâŚâ
He sputters, and looks so absolutely mortified it all but washes away all that negativity. Suddenly the whole thing is amusing.
âNo, you must come in!â Mal insists, opening the door wide.
Regina turns to her angrily. âMalâŚâ
âOh hush, let him in, my dear.â
She walks away naked, back towards the tub. Â âIâm going to finish my bath. Â You are more than welcome to sleep it off. Â Itâs a big bed. Â And I can use all the friends I can get.â
Robin is smirking now, giving Regina that look she absolutely hates (loves) that he seems to give every time he rolls the dice and ends up with snake eyes.
The look changes though, this time, and grows more serious, more⌠sensual.
âI shouldnât have interrupted,â he whispers to Regina, reaching up to run a hand through her wet hair. âI just⌠this thing between us, Iâm not the only one who feels it, am I?â
Regina cannot help but feel young and silly as she laughs and ducks her head to hide her smile. Â âNo, youâre not the only one.â
âIâll leave you ladies to your own devices, then,â he offers, kissing her cheek. âSheâs gorgeous, by the way.â
Regina snorts. Â She supposes itâs Robin congratulating her on her successful pick-up, and it should be offensive, but coming from his mouth, itâs just cute.
âHave your men left?â Regina asks. Â
Robin grimaces and chuckles. âWe were halfway back to camp when John spoke.  I⌠I rushed back here high on whiskey and low on sleep.â
She doesnât want him to leave just yet, she realizes. Thereâs a storm outside, and the man is alone and not quite sober yet.
âCome on in,â she sighs. âBut Iâm locking you in the wardrobe while I get changed.â
âI wouldnât want to intrude,â Robin says even as he teeters into the room on unsteady feet. Â
âYouâre not intruding,â Mal calls out from the bath. Â âYouâre making things more interesting.â
Regina bites her lip to suppress a smile as she wonders exactly how interesting the evening will get.

Mal, Regina and Robin have all had their fair share of trials and tribulations but after what seems like a lifetime, they have finally found their family. A combination of Day 1 (PDA) and Day 2 (Family) for @doqweek
A/N Unfortunately I canât commit to the whole week of DOQ but Iâm going to dip in and out, because Iâm awkward like that.
I am not very good at jumping straight into something so there is a bit of a build up before we get to the actual DOQ but I hope you enjoy the elements of Malâs backstory, DQ, OQ and separately before we get onto the fearsome but loving trio. Oh and lets go with the fact that Mal meets Lily earlier than she does in the show- if A&E can ignore the timeline then so can I. This is also my first time writing Dragon Queen and Dragon Outlaw Queen so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Â I have also only written smut once before, and whilst what I have written is amature it adds a bit of spice. Thank you to @ussjellyfish for betaâing this for me. Donât own OUAT- ABC do, please if fandom owned it weâd be on HBO by now.
TW for a discussion about Rape.
Anyway yes onto the fic- Backstory PDA and Family. Read on FF.net here
Mal had never had a family. Not one that sheâd ever known anyway. She had often wondered who they were, where they were. If they loved her and couldnât provide from her? Or if she was just a mistake, discarded before more shame could be brought on her parents? They were answers that haunted her existence. She had grown up, in what this world she supposed would be called orphanages, they were more like prisons. You were stripped of your identity, you had no family to call your own, and your story was blank. You were a number. Your life stripped down to what? A cell. A task. A number of days. You were fed, the bare minimum, and expected to work, mining the minerals from dawn until dusk. If you did not meet your target you were left down there at night. The only glimmer of light was that the children were all in the same boat, there was a degree of solidarity. You did not snitch, if someone was ill you would share your meagre rations. No matter how hopeless you felt there would always be a spark in your eye. Surviving was the only form of resistance, but it was better than letting them win.
She was in these institutions until she was ten, when her powers first overwhelmed her. She had been working for the past forty-eight hours, Exhaustion and anger eating her up. She didnât know what was happening, just felt a literal fire in her heart, a burning rage consume her.
She had been kicked out then. Young and petrified. Rumple had found her then. The imp was unpredictable and always spoke in riddles, but by now Mal had become used to surviving the weird. He told her she was a dragon and she had laughed. A Dragon? The last laugh was in her, and as difficult as the Dark One was he taught her a lot.
It wasnât until a young princess; wide eyed and full of misplaced hope turned up at her now crumbling castle, that she thought that, maybe this was her chance. Her chance at something more than this cursed life of misery. The belief, had relit the spark, she was a fighter, a badass dragon. She wasnât going to let life consume her anymore.
Of course it never does work out like that, Regina left and the love was replaced with rage. The optimism she saw in the young girl turned to bitterness and a desire to revenge. The Evil Queen didnât scare her though. She knew what hid behind the tight fitted dresses.
Her chance at family came when Lily was born. Lily was not planned, a result of a night where Mal had drank a bit too much and the sexual frustration had been too hard to resist. Still Mal was determined to love her, to be her mother, to give her everything sheâd never had. She failed. She always did. Her daughter, capable of unknown darkness, alone in another world. Doomed to ask the same questions she had asked herself for so many years.
///
Twenty-eight years. It had been twenty-eight years. Her baby was no longer an infant, she was a young woman. A young woman who had faced the challenges of the world, hardships, battled internal darkness without the love of a parent.
She feared she would never get Lily back, and it wasnât easy, not in those early days. Both were trying to gage the other. There was too much to discuss, things that needed to be said, but the time passed. They found their place together. Two badass dragon bitches.
///
Regina had always thought family was about a series of expectations. She blamed her mother for that. Her childhood was spent shuffled between tutors of literature and economics, learning the names of royalty. She would have elocution lessons. Present herself in a certain way for one day she would be Queen.
Her father loved her, but it wasnât enough. His love meant that he would dip his head, close his eyes. Blind to the injustice. The passive avoidance making him just as guilty. She didnât blame him, didnât hate him, She loved her papa but she wished for more.
//
Henry had taught her that family was about the struggles to make things work. It was the undeniable love for someone else. It was the push you needed to get up in the morning. It was the smile on her face.
//
Robin had created his own family- The Merry Men were a crazy bunch of outcasts, people that for some reason didnât fit, or refused to fit in. Yet they were some of the kindest people he knew. They would be there without question, to laugh, to cry, to give space and time.
///
Regina and Malâs relationship had been, turbulent. As a young princess she was infatuated with her, the sorceress was irresistible. She was fierce but loving. A loyalty, a desire that was infectious. It hadnât worked. It could never work.
She supposed then they had been enemies. There was no hatred, not really, jealousy tinged with disappointment maybe, but not hatred.
So when Mal had returned, back from the dead (Regina probably shouldnât have locked her up and allowed the saviour to kill her) moments after Robinâs departure she didnât know what to feel. She was hurting, and Mal knew. Mal had always known. She was reluctant at first, felt awful for cheating on Robin, even though he was now happily living with Marian. It was a couple of months when they had shared a few drinks. Spilling their sordid life stories over a whiskey or several. They had found that the connection, had not wavered in the thirteen years, two lonely broken souls had comforted one another again. The comforting touch on a shoulder, a friendly hug would, over the course of the night turn into something more heated more passionate. Two friends, lovers reigniting a flame. Both had a good night, one of the best in a long time, the morning hangover would not be so fun. As loathe as they were to admit it they were older than they once were.
//
The debacle that was discovering that Marian was Zelena, and that she was pregnant sent Regina into a searing rage.
Her soulmate had been raped by her own sister as some sick twisted, entirely fucked up way to get back at her.
Meanwhile in Storybrooke she had been lamenting and fucking Mal. Well wasnât she just girlfriend of the year.
It was Robin that found her, in a secluded corner of Central Park, and Regina was hit with a new wave of guilt. Robin was the one that had been raped and here she was feeling sorry for herself.
âReginaâ
She refused to look, couldnât look into his eyes, too afraid of what she was going to seeâ
âRegina, look at me please.â
She found she could not deny him.
âRegina, weâre both still trying to process what happened, and thatâs going to take a lot of time, but we canât change anything, and pretending it like it never happened, thatâs not going to achieve anything. We have to go with what we know. I love you, in these past few months I have tried to live the life I should, a life of honour, Â as husband and wife, or rather the person I believed to be my wife and it wasnât the same. " Â he looked up at Regina, finding some kind of comfort in her expression.
"I didnât love her because my heart no longer belonged to her. It belonged to you. I thought she was still alive, and whilst I didnât want to be with her anymore, it would be unfair to both of us. I wanted her to be happy, find her own soulmate in the world. I mourned her all those years ago, had learned to live with the ache in my heart. Now I have to deal with it again. I think thatâs what angers me the most, the fact that that witch could manipulate me like that. Live a lie, so complex, to deceive and manipulate, it can be nothing but malicious. She took the memory of my wife, the love I will always feel for her, and used it for vengeful sex. I was nothing more than a pawn in her fucking game. Day in Day out she would act so sweet, trying to fit in. Trying to understand everything. It was all a lie. I didnât even realise it was a lie. Who canât tell the difference between an imposter and their own wife. That monster betrayed her, but so did I. I do not know what to trust. If I can even trust myself. If Iâm just a fool? It will take me some time to try and figure everything out, I can never forget this feeling of resentment, betrayal. Â The only other thing I know is that that child is mine, and regardless of the circumstances of its conception, I will fight for that child. If I have to, I will do it alone, but I want to do it, as we shall do everything from now on together.â It was an emotive speech, and Regina smiled, placing her head on his shoulders
She looked up at him then, squeezing his hand. âRobin look at me, pleaseâ
Robin slowly turned his face towards hers- taking deep breaths, trying to calm down. âThere is nothing that I can say that will make this go away, that will turn back the clock. Nothing that will make the pain any easier to deal with. I will tell you this though, It is not your fault. You believed that woman to be your wife, you said yourself she was trying to understand a world she was not familiar with, you believed her to be dead, you harboured feelings for me. It wasnât going to be the same. You arenât a fool. You didnât betray your wife. I know whatever the future holds will be hard, but I want to be there for you. I want to do this togetherâ
He didnât say anything just buried his head in the crook of her neck, seeking a familiar comfort
She memorised his face, knowing that what she was about to say could break him, could leave him hating her. Both. That was unimaginable but she couldnât lie to him.
âRobin there is something else I need to tell you something and please just let me finish before you ask anything okay?â
Robin looked puzzled and anxious- âRegina, what is it, whatâs wrong, is Henry okay? Whatâs happening in Storybrooke?â
Regina sighed; she was going to lose him, seconds after finding him again. âHenry is fine, wonderful in fact. Itâs me, Iâm alright. Itâs just after you left IâŚ.I didnât handle it very well, you came into my life and for the first time I thought that maybe a villain could get a happy ending that maybe Henry would be able to have a father figure, that perhaps I would have a family, and I knew that it was foolish, that you had Henry, and Marian was your wife, that I wouldnât compete with her. That it was unfair for me to even think that it was a fight, or that you were some sort of prize, so I just didnât cope. I locked myself in my office, wouldnât speak to anyone. I didnât know what to say. Of course it being Storybrooke and the Queens of Darkness turn up (Cruella, Ursula and Maleficent), insistent on getting a happy ending for the villains.  I have a history with Mal, old friends turned lovers, turned enemies. She always understood me though, in a way few else could. One night we shared a few drinks and our life stories, things got heated, you were gone I didnât think I would see you again. I just wanted to feel something other than pain.
"Weâre friends, but it was getting more serious between us, I love you though. Once we get back to Storybrooke I will tell Mal that whatever was blossoming between us is overâ
She searched his eyes for something, anything to tell her how she would feel.
âThank you for telling me Regina, but why donât we just wait until we get to Storybrooke, today has been an intense day and I think we both need a rest. Know this; what you just told me doesnât change how I feel about you.â
//
The entire return trip Regina was nervous, petrified, she had no idea what was going to happen, how Mal or Robin would react to each other.
//
Robin hadnât been shocked that Regina had found comfort in someone else, slightly jealous yes of course, but not shocked or hurt. Her heart was something she kept so well guarded, so if someone managed to view it, claim it, they were honoured.
He would admit to being curious as to what this Mal would look like.
//
Mal was waiting for Regina at Grannyâs, she was anxious- Regina had rang her saying she needed to talk, Mal already knew that they had found Robin, the man that had claimed Reginaâs heart. She knew that whatever they had was about to end. She expected to be sad, to hate this Robin, but she could never hate someone that made Reginaâs eyes dance.
//
Regina entered Grannyâs and her and Mal awkwardly hugged each other, breaking the embrace when they heard the bell, signalling Robinâs arrival.
//
Robin assumed the blonde was Mal, and he had to bite the laugh that threatened to escape his mouth, she was so like Regina, the pantsuits that perfectly accentuated her curves, a smile that was rare but bright, and eyes that had seen unimaginable pain, but shone with fierce determination. The hug was awkward, and he really hoped it wasnât on his account.
//
âMal⌠â Regina began.
âI know little one. This canât happen anymore. Donât apologise. We have both come too far to apologise when life grants us a chance at happinessâ
//
It took a week before Robin suggested it. Regina was happy yes, but he could tell she was still thinking of Mal and truth being told he had thought of her too.
âRegina, my love, you still love Mal, donât you?â
Regina wanted to scream. How could he ask that? What was she supposed to answer? âI donât know what you want me to tell youâ
âTruth always the Truthâ
âYes,â it was barely more than a whisper.
âThis is going to sound strange b
âWeâre not Mormonsâ Regina couldnât help but shout.
Robin laughed; Regina always had the best timing.
âWhat would that mean though? How would it work?â
âI donât know, or even if it will work, but would you be willing to try?â he replied.
///
Regina spoke to Mal and despite the initial shock she agreed.
///
The three found on that they got along splendidly- all of them had a dry humour which helped to dissipate any initial awkwardness. They would go on walks under the moonlight; they didnât want anyone to see themâŚnot yet.
Mal would come around for tea, it was on one of these occasions, when the friendly flirtatious banter progressed into something more. Robin was cooking; something which Mal in particular found attractive about him, and Mal and Regina had been regaling stories of their younger years. The exploration of bodies, kisses being trailed down each otherâs spines, bringing each other to their peaks, before the sweet release. Robin was turned on, and they knew it. Smirking Mal turned to Regina and asked âAre you still a bad girl Regina?â
With a smug laugh she replied âThe worstâ before both of them went to tease Robin mercilessly, turning the oven off- dinner could wait. Mal kissed Robin deeply, and Robin couldnât help but respond, the kiss intensifying causing Mal to moan into it. Regina meanwhile had moved to his tightening cock, taking it in her hands. Robin wouldnât last much longer.
///
It was three weeks after that um frolicking and the trio were finding it increasingly hard to keep it from people, Henry already knew. Deciding to inform Regina casually one morning that there was someoneâs shirt in the laundry that wasnât hers or Robins, but Malâs. Similarly Lily knew, had asked her mom why she wouldnât come home sometimes.
That night none of them could be bothered to cook so they made their way to Grannyâs hand in hand.
Leroy sent them a questioning glance; well it was no longer a secret now. Maybe Regina should text Snow, it would be around the town in half the time if they both knew. Mal had only heard stories about the dwarf but if he wanted a show, she pulled Regina closer towards her and kissed her. Robin would never tire of seeing them kiss, but there was no way he was being left out. Regina it seems knew him too well, and turned to kiss him; he didnât have the self-constraint of the ladies, and begged for more. Regina refused but whispered- later.
It was only then they realised people was staring. This was Storybrooke surely the people had witnessed stranger things than three people in love.
///
Two years later and things had finally settled down, Regina, Mal and Robin were three lost souls, three outcasts who hadnât asked for much, they knew they would get by, but fate had brought them together.
The Mansion had never been so full- Henry, now seventeen was in his senior year, he was currently looking at colleges. Regina was cursing the fact that she hadnât included one in her town plan. Lily worked in Boston, she was a lawyer in Kathrynâs firm, but made regular trips back home to see the family. Roland was seven and still had the cutest dimples in existence- Mal had practically melted when she first met him, Regina and Robin was indignant because they werenât the cool ones. Dragons are the best, everyone knows that Roland had exclaimed. Eleanor or Elle had lived with them since birth- Zelena would take her alternate weekends, the situation was still something that Regina had not fully comes to terms with but the three of them knew how important it was to know where you came from.
They were led down under the apple tree, the silence comforting, all three of them smiling. Finally understanding what Family meant. Family was not something that you could define; it wasnât two parents, two kids and a picket fence. Family was the feeling of just being free to be you. The network of people without whom you could not imagine your life without. The people who were there without you needing to ask.
For so long Mal had wondered how does a moment last forever? How can happiness endure? The answer was family.

psst. this is mostly just a psa for yâall to watch 3% on netflix. and so, there are some slight spoilers for 3% on netflix (go watch it).
â
For all that they love spending time together, TV watching is not exactly one of their favorite group pastimes. Not that Mal and Robin havenât fallen into the trap of this worldâs entertainment of movies and TV shows; their tastes are just too different. Luckily for the household, Netflix is pretty adept at catering to everyoneâs guilty (or maybe not-so-guilty) pleasures. Unluckily for Regina, Robin, and Mal, it still doesnât quite make for a quiet night in with each other.
Malâs taste usually resides on the more inappropriate side of Netflix (âTrashy,â Regina insists; Mal ignores her). And Robinâs got a weak spot for the Marvel shows that Regina knows full well heâs secretly watching with Henry even though theyâre too mature for him.Â
And as for Regina, well. Sheâs not much of a TV person. And that extends to Netflix.
Mal and Robin had managed to find harmony through Sense8, and had tried getting Regina to watch it one night; the attempt was unsuccessful, as Regina was feeling more inclined to spend their night together doing other things. But while Robin and Mal were both all too happy to forgo Netflix for said other things, they still couldnât resist harassing Regina afterwards for not having given the show a try. So later she had, on her own and a bit halfheartedly (one episode she watched, that in her defense felt more like three in her opinion), and reported back that she wasnât interested, much to her loversâ dismay.
âYou just havenât found the right show,â Robin argues, with Mal giving a firm nod. And after weeks of insistence, Regina finally relents and agrees to another night in.Â
Regina enters the living room to see Netflixâs main menu already on the television screen. The room is dark, with various snacks already on the coffee table, courtesy of Robin (Regina notices most of them are her favorites), and various throw pillows and blankets folded neatly on the couch, courtesy of Mal (with her favorite blue one on top, and she picks it up and catches a pleasant whiff of her calming fabric softener). Her chest fills with warmth at the blatant attempts to make this night for her, and her resolve against it all weakens a little.
Robin and Mal join her in the living room with drinks, smiling in anticipation.Â
âOperation Eleven is ago,â Mal announces, and Regina raises an eyebrow.
âThis has reached operation status?â Regina asks, rolling her eyes at the thought of Henry deeming her tv consumption (or lack thereof) that relevant.Â
âHenry thought so,â Mal confirms, and Regina sighs, asking what eleven means.
âItâs from the show Stranger Things,â Robin explains as they all get comfortable on the couch. âWe all watched it last weekend with Lily while you were working on your budget reports.â
âItâs got a cute little demon girl in it named Eleven. Sheâs our favorite,â Mal adds, cuddling in closer and playing with a lock of Reginaâs hair.
Robin grabs the remote off the coffee table and settles back in on his side of the couch. âNow what are we in the mood for?â he asks Regina.
âI donât know,â Regina sighs. âI still think you guys are wasting your time with this. We could be spending the night in a much more enjoyable way â for all three of us.â
âNo,â Mal immediately replies, sitting up to give her a firm look. âThis will not end like last time. Weâre gonna find a damn show that we all can enjoy, and we will it watch together.â She looks over at Robin for affirmation. âWeâre ready to thwart any moves you might make to distract usâ â Regina rolls her eyes; Malâs definitely been spending too much time with Henry â âand weâre ready to put up necessary resistance.â
Regina raises an eyebrow at them both. âYou mean you two already had sex today before I got home,â she clarifies, and the two merely give her similar smirks.
âTomayto, tomahto,â Robin mutters.Â
âAlright, alright, just pick a damn show,â Regina grumbles. She watches the menu as Robin scrolls through different options â and Regina holds back a remark about him finally figuring out technology. Because she loves them for this, she does, and she loves that they want another reason for all three of them to spend time together â but honestly, does it have to be this? They donât even need a reason to spend time together, theyâre together, damn it, and frankly, she doesnât see whatâs wrong with spending their quality time talking over dinner like they normally do, and then taking things to the bedroom like they normally do, and â
âReally, Regina? Nothing interests you?â Mal interrupts Reginaâs thoughts. Regina looks over to see annoyance on the blondeâs face, and Reginaâs irritation grows. Maybe itâs not as deep as she thought â maybe they really do just think her odd for not finding much interest in tv shows, and are trying to rectify that. She bristles at the thought.
âWell Iâm sorry Iâm not particularly interested in watching a bunch of criminals have sex in a prison,â she bites.Â
Robin interrupts before the argument grows heated. âAlright, how about we start with a genre? Something funny? Something dark?â
âAmerican Horror Story,â Mal throws in, and Robin scrunches his nose up in distaste. Offended, Mal snips, âYouâve got anything better?â
âHow about Jessica Jones?â he suggests. âI think youâll like that one,â he tells Regina.
âSheâs annoying,â Mal argues bluntly.
âSheâs been through a lot ââ
âAnd she still manages to be annoying.â
Robin lets out whatâs supposed to be a tempering sigh, but comes out more as a frustrated huff. âMaybe we should watch something a bit more light-hearted?â
âWeâre not watching Fuller House,â Mal says immediately.
âI never said ââ
âOkay,â Regina tries to intervene. She reaches for the remote that Robin let fall in between the cushions of the couch.
âItâs a stupid show,â Mal continues. She and Robin have both sat up to face each other better, and Regina rolls her eyes at how ridiculous this all is.Â
âItâs a perfectly nice, family show ââ
âItâs supposed to be a comedy, but itâs not even funny!â Then Mal brightens with an idea. âIf weâre gonna watch something funny, letâs watch Always Sunny!â
âNo.â Robinâs response is immediate, and Malâs smile falls. âItâs a terrible show with terrible people!â
âI know,â Mal asserts, âitâs great!â
âOkay!â Regina raises her voice, and both Mal and Robin finally quiet down. Regina scrolls over to a show listed under the Recently Added category. âThis one looks interesting,â she lies, selecting it. And just because she canât resist being annoying, she switches the language from English to the original Brazilian Portuguese when she sees the option.Â
âI want the full experience.â
âWe wonât understand,â Robin points out, to which Regina just shrugs and tells them that she will. Robin and Mal raise their eyebrows at this new tidbit of information on Regina, but instead of lingering on it they ask how theyâll be able to follow along.
âIt has subtitles,â Regina assures them, and then shushes them as the first episode begins.
Three episodes in, Reginaâs momentarily pulled back to reality enough to realize with a bit of chagrin that her two lovers have succeeded in their efforts tonight. In spite of herself, sheâs interested in the show. Itâs a dystopian concept, an intriguing one. She likes the characters, especially the seemingly more antagonistic ones that prove to be better people later on (something sheâll always have a weak spot for, despite how ridiculous she thinks herself for it). And when Julia loses the chance to see her son, the despair Regina feels for the fictional woman is something sheâd normally be embarrassed about, but the tightening of both Robin and Malâs hands around each of her own reassure her sheâs not the only one so deeply affected.
It doesnât bother her as much as it should when they finish the first season and she looks at the time to see that itâs a little past three in the morning. She feels like an emotional wreck, and itâs something she canât remember feeling so deeply since she was younger, before Snow, before Daniel, when all she had to keep herself occupied in her lonely home were books filled with stories sheâd invest herself so fully in, much preferring fantasy to her reality.
She doesnât wish that anymore, she knows for certain, looking at her two loves as they quietly stand up and stretch their limbs. But itâs still a nice sensation to feel, despite the touch of sadness mixed in. Itâs still a nice little break from reality, despite how much more enjoyable that reality may be. Maybe Netflix isnât such a bad idea after all.
âOkay,â Regina breaks the silence softly. âThat was nice,â she admits. She canât help smiling in spite of herself at the triumphant looks Mal and Robin shoot each other. Moving to clean off the coffee table, she asks, âSo when are we watching the next season?â
âOh, when it comes out next year, probably,â Robin answers absentmindedly, holding back a yawn.
Regina looks up sharply. âNext year?â
Robin furrows his eyebrows in confusion. âYes, Netflix show seasons are generally yearly.â
Regina turns to Mal, as if expecting her to give her a different, much more acceptable answer. âWhat do you mean? I have to wait until next year to see what happens next? Thatâs a terrible deal!â
Upset at the thought of sitting with these emotions over the show for God knows how long with no relief, Regina huffs. Netflix was clearly a terrible idea after all.
Sitting on a Throne (While Theyâre Buried in the Dirt).
Itâs late, but itâs here. A slightly-longer-than-a-drabble-drabble of Dragon Outlaw Queen vigilante serial killers on the hunt for the @spookyoq murder prompt.
Usual blanket âgabi is writingâ warnings apply - there is blood, guts, death, angst, magic, and all things horrific and wonderful (to me at least). Every single fic I post this month will be Horror. Nothing is sacred to me. No one is safe in my hands. Youâve been warned.
Itâs obviously part of Horror Fest 2k17
George King is vile. And everything about him is making her skin crawl, just like it used to when he would slip into her room after everyone else had gone to bed.Â
Sheâs going to enjoy this one.
She canât see them, but she can feel their gaze on her. And if she pretends the heat of their combined watch is a caress she can just about stomach leaning into Kingâs side, giggling at his pathetic jokes, and trailing her fingers up and down the sleeve of his imitation Armani suit jacket. When he reaches down to grope at her ass she swallows back bile and bites her lip when she knows heâs looking.
Yes, she will definitely enjoy this one.
When he starts to hint about leaving, about her joining him for a nightcap, she downs the last of her whiskey, fights the urge to look over her shoulder and leads him out of the bar.
It doesnât take long at all for the drugs to take effect. King is half out of his mind by the time theyâre two blocks over, and heâs ridiculously easy to maneuver once he becomes a little docile compared to how pushy the bastard was when he first approached her. She makes sure that the route they take is one that twists and turns, doubles back on itself through shadowed streets and alleysâit wonât do it to have it easily traced once they are finishedâ as they stumble towards the abandoned warehouse.
By the time she feels warm arms wrap around her waist from behind, damp kisses pressed to either side of her neck, King is stripped to his undershirt and boxers, ankles and wrists lashed to a chair on top of the plastic covered floor.
âYou two took your time,â she grumbles.
âAnd we are very, very, sorry about that, my darling,â Mal says as she peppers kisses up and down the side of her neck that sheâs claimed for herself.
Robin laughs as he steps back slightly, giving her ass a squeeze before he moves around to stand next to her, appraising their guest. âSo, what are we going to do with him?â He wraps his arm around Reginaâs shoulder when she leans into his side, reaching out to tangle his fingers in Malâs curlsâhe loves being able to touch them at the same time. âLadies choice.â
âWhat do you think, darling?â Mal asks, pressing herself along the side of her, dropping yet more kisses to the hinge where her shoulder meets neck, the one that makes her eyes roll back into her skull. âYou were the one to pick him, after all.â
Regina hums, eyes on George King. âHe likes to play games,â she murmurs. âLikes to pretend heâs so righteous and good while he goes around making those girlsâ lives hell.â
âHe wonât be able to hurt them anymore, love. Not after tonight.â Robin presses a kiss to her brow. âNow,â he moves away from them, pulling a long, thin blade from the inside of his jacket, âshall we wake our guest?â He grins, stepping closer to run the tip of his knife over Kingâs arm before he slams it down through the back of his hand, yanking the man from his drug induced sleep with a scream.
Mal giggles as she presses a solid, cool weight into her palm and stalks forward to bend down into Kingâs eyeline, her fingers spinning a hypodermic needle as she whispers, âonly we can hear you, George. And we quite like the sound of your hollering.â Grinning she stands back up and moves aside to wrap herself around Robinâs back, looping her arms around the front of his neck and resting her chin on his shoulder to stare at Regina. âHeâs all yours, beautiful.â
King is growling under his breath, straining against the leather and metal bands that have him trapped. Every now and then a sharp whimper cuts through his swearing and his eyes move from flickering between the three of them, and the gaping woundâbleeding freelyâon his hand.
âThat looks like it hurts,â Regina says.
âFuck you,â King spits.
âYouâre right handed, arenât you Mr King?â Regina asks, rolling her eyes, her voice soft and barely distinguishable over his gasping. âIs that the hand you preferred to use to smack those girls around? Iâm terribly sorry to tell you that you might struggle a bit with that from now on.â
His gaze finally settles on her, glaring at her even as she rakes her own disinterested one over him. âWho the hell are you people?â
Ignoring him Regina starts to take even, slow steps closer to him. âYou donât have bruised knuckles, would you hit them with an open palm instead?â she asks tilting her head to the side. âI guess that works well enough, knocks them down to the floor just as easily as your fists wouldâthey were only, what, prostitutes and runaways? And itâs not like you didnât pay them for their troubles, is it?â
âHow dare youââ
âDonât you know who I am?â Robin mocks. âWe know exactly who you are Mr King. Question is, do you know who we are? Better yet, do you know why weâve brought you here?â
King spits at them.
Malâs grin widens from over Robinâs shoulder. âOh, look at him, darlings,â she coos. âHe thinks heâs still the one in control.â
âYou know, I grew up in a house with someone like you,â Regina says it like sheâs discussing the weather theyâve been having recently. âActually two pieces of shit like you. Youâre all the same in the endâyou all bleed red.â She crouches down until her eyes are level with his, lifts the small cooking blowtorch up, flicking it on and smiling at him, the flames reflecting in both of their eyes. âYouâre not in control of the game anymore, George.â
