i have to admit, i finished adrien’s full body refs really quickly, like a few days after i finished mari’s, but for some reason i really was not feeling his emotions. and, to be honest, i’m still a little peeved with how they turned out, but i did my best.

first off, i really wanted adrien to have a more business casual aesthetic. something i think gabriel agreste would actually design. so i made up a logo for the agreste brand, a simple “Ag” although now that i think about it, i probably should have kept that butterfly design that is on adrien’s shoes normally. i might make that change. anyway. then, i wanted to draw his hair similarly to chat noirs, because most holders’ hair doesn’t change too dramatically. so in adrien’s case, chat’s hair simply becomes a middle part instead of adrien’s side part. plus this hair is a lot easier to draw than what he had before. 

i tried to incorporate more of the asian feel in her character, something i know many of us in the fandom wish we can see. i understand she is half asian, so she’s not exactly going to look as asian as sabine or kagami, but i hope at least giving her sabine’s eye color was a good enough change. to add to that, i also tried to research traditional clothes. i know marinette isn’t going to parade around in a traditional dress, so i tried to get a marinette-branded look more or less inspired by traditional dress-- something i think marinette would make herself. thusly, she wears a more modern kimono jacket with floral embroidery. i’m not entirely sure if her shoes are actually similar to traditional shoes, but i think the inspiration is there.
