Upon Melinoë’s return to the Crossroads…
Moros: What ails you, Princess? You seem troubled.
Melinoë: Chronos sometimes uses his magick to transport me to another region of the Underworld — Asphodel, usually — where I have to withstand a barrage of attacks from the shades there before I can return to my own time and place. Last night was different; he sent me to Elysium.
Moros: I’m afraid I don’t understand. Elysium is a far more pleasant realm than Asphodel, in my experience.
Melinoë: At first I thought he’d dropped me in an empty field of flowers, but I discovered that I wasn’t alone.
Moros: Go on…
Melinoë: Zagreus was there with Thanatos. But they didn’t see me, as they were a bit preoccupied—
Moros: Eugh. Say no more. I can surmise for myself what horrors Chronos exposed to you.
Melinoë: Exposed is right. I’d rather stand knee-deep in the Phlegethon for an hour than see that again.
Moros: Perhaps I could convince Charon to bring you some water from the Lethe to help wash it from your mind?
Melinoë: I can assure you that I could drink the entire Lethe and it still wouldn’t be enough.

Don't ask why Ancient Greek characters are at a modern airport. Nothing is supposed to make sense in this crackinuity.

It's especially hilarious that Moros appeared right after I tried to defeat Eris with Vows of Rivals on and no Death Defiances
Anyway, I was grinning and kicking my feet during the whole scene :3
thank you moros and nemesis for showing up to bang while my parent was watching me play, quite the delightful experience.
Absolutely adore Hades 2, that said I hope Supergiant will walk away from it with ideas on how to rectify certain writing shortcomings for a game that is as ambitious as Hades 2 is, if they were to ever to create something with as many characters again.
Actually, part of the issue might be the fact that there's so many characters that after a certain amount of runs some of those characters sadly tend to fall pretty flat due to the writing being stretched out between them all? Which isn't really unusual for games that have dialogue systems, but I think it hurts more in a game like Hades 2 that's meant to be a sequel to a game that is famously known for having what seems like endlessly discoverable dialogue interactions and character relations that reveal more depth to each character.
With Hades 2, after a certain amount of runs it's imo a lot more obvious than it was in Hades when a character runs out of new things to say, as they will default back more into saying generic things that while are technically still in-character don't really make them worthwhile to talk to anymore since it doesn't really add anything to the story or characters...
That's not typically as big of an issue with the smaller side characters but maaaan it makes characters like Dora feel like they don't even matter anymore since she refuses to say anything else to Mel that isn't a one-liner pretending to haunt her after fulfilling her route, even though I feel like there's so much more you can do w her as someone who practically lives with her in the same tent. And it's esp painful w the Nemesis and Eris romance routes cuz with those it's like, Mel struggled and fought and bonded through that struggle and in that one instance you get of them being romantically together, it's meant to be so satisfying to finally overcome their initial hostility towards one another to get where they are, but then right after that they default back to the more generic dialogues that don't even acknowledge they are in a romantic or at least more bonded relationship that almost makes it feel like that time doesn't matter. You can't even spend more time w them in the hot springs or fishing or drinking Ambrosia anymore after maxing out their bond and it's like... it doesn't really feel like there was a point to romancing in the first place if that's all we got from it ^^'. There's less inconsistency imo with Icarus and Moros cuz the very way they wrote Icarus is that he's smitten w Mel from day 1, and Moros is always generally polite (but that also gets stale cuz he doesn't really treat Mel like a close partner more like an acquaintance still after romancing him), and I get from a game mechanic standpoint that's much easier to have a consistent dialogue tree for, to make someone seem at least amicable towards you, but I really wish they had more dialogue options for showing how much progress you made w Nem and Eris like they did with Zag and Meg + Zag and Than in the first Hades. Like obv I don't expect Nem to be super lovey dovey to Mel I still want her to be her big mean self but it's kind of a letdown when she still doesn't even acknowledge Mel as someone she sees as on her level anymore after that one instance where she does while having fade-to-black woohoo with her. The first Hades shows Supergiant is capable of writing a good rivals to lovers progression that stays afterwards without making characters lose their rivalry and I miss that it's not really in Hades 2 anymore.
Anyways, Supergiant for the most part has great writing for their games, but I hope if they ever make a game like Hades, Hades 2, or Pyre again in the future they sort of put more focus on quality over quantity.
