It was like a gut feeling he got , unable to entirely explain it.

As he reached for the last box , removing the tape he happened upon some of the castle's old christmas ornaments and holly strands . sifting through he slid a few wreaths on to his arm , along with some mistletoe and stretched up to the chandelier and grand bannister to hang the adornments. as he came back down , he put his hands on hips , proud of his work and again asked;

❛  is this adequate? ❜ but strangely received no response. following the line of victor's sight he gazed up at the mistletoe he'd hung above , seemingly dismissive of the connotation. immediately , his face turned bright red .

❛  I didn't mean anything by it!- I just thought it was the best place to hang it. ❜

he stated on the defensive , but at the faintest of sound of what could only be a stifled bit of laughter beneath the mask he had no alternative.
