Tonight's #soundtrack is #neilyoung's 1973 live album #timefadesaway. Young put together a live band called the #straygators and played mostly new and #electric guitar based songs to audiences expecting to hear the softer #acoustic sounds of his hit album #harvest from the previous year and did not always react positively to the new songs. #crazyhorse guitarist #dannywhitten was supposed to be in the band but was too damaged by drug abuse to go on a long tour and was sent home home; he died shortly after from an overdose which young felt directly responsible for. The tour was marked by conflict amongst the band, low morale and personnel changes mid tour. While the resulting album sold well young disowned it and it is his only album never remastered for cd and was for years a much sought after #bootleg.
