Well it's been a little over a week I think since that first post, and there has been...wait for it...ZERO traffic. This could absolutely be due to user error, as I stated I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing here. Yet, years of being the girl who everyone uses or mistreats, I'm chalking it up to this: I'm lame. It's a fact, something I've come to grips with over the years and that I've actually learned to love.Β
Years ago, I would never have dreamed of starting a blog and sharing my opinion. Because no one cared about my opinion in real life, so who would care about it on the web? For the same years, I had people who duped me, used me, didn't truly care and showed it in ways that changed me forever. This week was like deja vu. Someone who I genuinely trusted and who has been in a terrible on-again, off-again fling for months lied to me, used me, and ultimately chose him over our friendship. In the past? I would be in a funk. Destroyed. Heartbroken. Now? I really couldn't give two fucks.Β
The same guy, once he had "won" this little night out that went horrendously wrong, took to Twitter to emphasize his victory. I feel I should mention there is an age gap, as I'm one year older (and a whole lot wiser) than the people being mentioned. The tweets consisted of "some people don't know how to have a good time" and replies to my tweets calling me a "clown", and that I'm "childish" and only act so much more "grown up". My response? NOTHING.
I'm almost 21. I have no time for this bullshit. And calling my childish on a social network does nothing to demonstrate maturity. So I'm cleansing myself of the friendship and all other ties until either my friend gets her shit together or I forget about it.Β
Life is too goddamn short. Especially to spend it being miserable. So please, if anyone ever ends up reading this, go through life with a smile. If nothing else, the people who hate on you will hate seeing you happy. And that's a battle won already.Β
