Did Mickey want to keep his daughter and was pressured by his father to give her up, or was he more than willing to do so?

I can see him wanting to give her up to appease his father, but I also see him being very reluctant to do so.

Yes and no.

Given that Mickey was about 18 and very sheltered, the thought of having a baby absolutely terrified him. Honestly, I don’t think he had the maturity to even think about the baby as anything other than a horrible obstacle they needed to remove entirely.

Abortions were fairly common among stars with unwanted pregnancies but still very taboo. While Mickey was the one who suggested for Donald to “get rid” of the baby first, he honestly didn’t fully grasp what he was asking Donald to do.

When Mickey told Walt, of course he suggested an abortion as well but when Donald told Mickey that he wanted to keep it… well, Walt hated the idea. It was actually Mickey who stood up to his father (one of the scariest moments for him) and defended Donald’s choice. Obviously, they couldn’t raise it so giving up the baby seemed to be the merciful compromise. The baby wouldn’t be far, Donald’s family would take care of it, and things could go back to normal…

They’re “friends” definitely. Their love language is just insulting eachother, calling eachother slurs (Quacker being the equivalent of a duck slur) teasing eachother, and touching. That’s all, Toodles!
