This year we delved into our archive collection to explore 1981, a pivotal year in British history. Through a broad selection of materials, from periodicals and newspaper articles to photographs, we explored beyond the media coverage of the Uprisings in Brixton, Birmingham, Leeds and Liverpool. In a mini archive display we presented the work of activists, race relations campaigners, and the community leaders who were spearheading education initiatives – we are revisiting narratives of those who lived during this time and the historic events that changed British history.
