Hi! You can ignore this ask if you're not comfortable answering it, but I was curious... what are you studying in university? And what kind of school did you go to?
It’s fine, don’t worry! I’ll do my best to explain it, being Italian I don’t know really well how other school systems work.
As of now, I’m studying to get a degree in Cultural Heritage, specifically in Art History (in my university there’s also Archaeology in the same department). It seems easy, at first, because people look at Art History and go “oh, so you look at paintings? that’s so easy!” (personal experience, I’m salty about it), but holy gods it’s a pain. To give you some insight, as of now I’m studying Latin Literature, History of Art Critic (I have no idea if that’s the correct translation, sorry), something about Art History methods that I absolutely have no idea how to translate, and Late Antique Archaeology. And I had exams on History (medieval, modern, contemporary), Art History (ancient art, medieval art, modern art, contemporary art), Art Literature, and Italian Literature. Plus something minor, like Cartography, Computer Science (yeah, I’m not sure about the translation of that one), Art History Lab, and English. This is an adventure and a half, let me tell you. I don’t even like this, because I wanted to attend a different university, but my family didn’t let me.
Now, what school did I go to? I have no idea where you come from, so I don’t know what you’re asking me specifically, but I’ll tell you what school I attended before university (’cause that’s the school we get to choose ourselves).
I attended an arts high school (I searched the translation of this one on google, cut me some slack please) for four years. My first year I attended a scientific high school. I changed because I didn’t actually want to go there, I just endured the first year because my parents wanted me to attend that school and then noped out of there. After getting my high school diploma, I didn’t straight up go for a university, but took some costume design classes for a year.
And now here I am, memorizing paintings, sculptures, artists, history, literature, wanting to hide under a rock and sleep for ten years straight.
I hope I sated your thirst for curiosity!
