Boring Ramble You Can Skip But
I'm going to also say
my dislike of the upcoming Onestar book isn't with Onestar itself [though he's low-ranking when it comes to my favorites because he's one of the examples of how the narrative has a double standard when it comes to old characters vs new characters + he really was an ass for so long and was going to let an entire Clan die because of teenagers]
but it's similar to my gripes with Leopardstar's Honor where like
I don't want them to confirm that Onestar was with Whitetail [especially if they were mates before Smoke and also because I never liked Onestar being Heathertail's dad]
I'm not looking forward to how they mess with the WindClan family tree more, especially since so many major cats already seem to be related [Onestar is Crowfeather's uncle and both are related to Tallstar through Tallstar's half siblings; Wrenflight, Flypaw, Bristlepaw, and Rabbitpaw]
and while I'd love to know more about series 1 WindClan, I also know that there's a chance they'll still push the narrative on how Redtail died and they may also try to change other events of the timeline
the old forest books feel like they're now hurting the series more than anything because it feels like they're including things without thinking of how it creates a butterfly effect throughout the future books
it's feels heavily of that 'starting writer' thing where young writers throw anything at a wall to see what sticks but these are people who have been writing longer than starting writers and it feels like they should've overcome this obstacle

this bothers me as someone who's passionate about creating worlds and telling stories because when you can't even keep track of your own events, if you don't think about how the past can affect the future in which your current books take place
then that creates a huge problem in the writing
