𝑎 𝑟𝑢𝑠ℎ 𝑜𝑓 𝑓𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑦 becomes him & suddenly it feels as if there were three as if they were the only two in the world. nothing else mattered in the moment that they sit beside each other & noé leans gently ‘gainst domi’s shoulder. it’s a moment of relief , clogged by unsettled memories that cling to the two of them like a haunted possession. he swallows audibly , as if even the air is hard to take in & allows himself to become the vulnerable version of himself that she knows so well.

ilac :   what was your muse’s childhood like ?   how has their upbringing affected them as they’ve aged ?

Rosario’s childhood was a HOT MESS, if you think about it. Fragmented in pieces and then also somewhat secluded when he was sold off to the vampire clan. When he was still living with his parents, they were very strict and emotionally abusive to him in small ways. He was a quiet, sensitive kid who didn’t make friends easily and was belittled for it by his peers as well as his parents. They were part of a very “rich” society of the city so their child, Rosario, not being able to make the connections they needed with the other children made them in theory LOOK BAD. He was called a failure often, told to try harder and was often forced into a lot of awkward situations with kids he hardly knew. Mind you, this was all before the age of 10!  When he was sold off to pay off debts, Alessandro ( his mentor ) took him in and it was quite the opposite living environment then what he was used to. Rosario came to the vampires as a very nervous and shy child, seeing him for what he was, they were much kinder than anything. He was granted protection as Alessandro’s ward until it was he was of age to enter immortality. Rosario was given a lot of space to develop the way a child should, honing their artistic abilities with a lot of outlets and to socialize at their own pace. He’s not forced to play nice with kids based off social standing much less to appease his mentor, he was praised if he even made a friend! It was contrasting compared to living with human family lol
