“Hallie, I think we should watch the original Carrie before you drag me to see the remake,” Dom groaned to you, as you were discussing films you wanted to watch.

“Why?” you frowned, turning to face him.

“Because last time you took me to see a remake you were scared out of your wits!” Dom laughed.

“Alright, let’s watch it tonight,” you said challengingly, giving Dom a grin.

“Fine! Let’s do it!”

That night, you and Dom both sat on your sofa as your parents were out for the night. Dom had the original Carrie movie and he popped it in as you got the popcorn. You sat down together and began to watch the movie. In the beginning it was okay, since it was quite comical, especially when Carrie got her period in the shower in school and she thought that she was bleeding to death. Dom couldn’t stop laughing when he saw that.

“Maybe we should see that film,” he chuckled, wiping the tears from his eyes.

“I don’t think the story really keeps its comical humour,” you laughed, chomping on more of the warm popcorn. “In all of the trailers she had blood all over her, what’s that about?” Well soon, you both found out. Slowly, the film got slightly more disturbing. Carrie’s mother was abusive and locked her in a cupboard to pray, thats when Carrie realised she had the ability to move things with her mind and she split the cupboard open. Dom began to get bored as Carrie slowly got stronger day to day, but you were getting slightly freaked out.

“Okay this film is crap,” Dom yawned, leaning on your shoulder as he got a little tired.

“We can turn it off if you want,” you muttered, huddling deeper into the blankets.

“Scared, babe?” Dom smirked, staring at you. Your pride wouldn’t allow you to say yes.

“No! Let’s keep watching then!” When the prom scene came and a bucket of blood was poured onto Carrie, your heart started racing. “She’s gonna kill every freaking person in that room now isn’t she?” you asked Dom. Dom was getting quite nervous too, you could hear his heartbeat get quicker.

“Um..well...” Dom didn’t get to answer since straight away, Carrie began to violently kill everyone in the room with her mind. Once that was done, she left the room and got home, had a bath and the water turned red.

“Dom I think we should turn it off now,” you whispered, gripping his arm.

“Hal, calm down,” Dom said softly, reaching for the remote. “Wait...the remote’s gone.” You two had no choice but to wait for the film to end. Carrie had now killed her mother by crucifying her, then had burnt down the house with her in it and your eyes were shut for most of it.

“Is it over?” you whispered.

“I think so,” Dom hissed. But no, it wasn’t over. You two watched in horror as one of Carrie’s actual friends tiptoed to the rubble remains and looked at the dirt, as suddenly, Carrie’s bloody hand shot out of the dust and tried to grab her.

“ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” you screamed, jumping so hard that the bowl slipped out of your arms onto the floor. Now the film was over...and you were having a mild panic attack.

“Babe, calm down,” Dom whispered, kissing you gently until you stopped gasping for air. Slowly, you calmed down. “Still wanna watch the remake?”

“What do you think?” you sniffed, as you gradually stopped shaking. Dom laughed and kissed you again.
