(no but lots of BrontĆ«'s couples have seriously weird power dynamics, butĀ Jane/Rochester. At the beginning he's trying to turn her into a trophy wife and Jane's just lol nope down boy. She totally manipulates him into doing what she wants (and what's best for them), plays him like a fiddle, and the ending is just her being a massive tease and sayingĀ I'm going to take care of you now 'cause I have money and family and a potential suitor I am in charge nowĀ and he's delighted by it. Look, it's really not that far a stretch.)
