Lucy (Lucky Industries Fashion Corner, rewigged and rebodied onto an extra Hula Hair Barbie body) and Kelsey (Kid Kore Kelsey, rebodied onto a Steffi Love articulated body) were both dolls I'd sworn I'd buy only if I found them for $1 or less. Which I did. When I look at them individually, I like their nervous little faces; and yet my photo files have not one single pic of Kelsey by herself. If I saw them today, knowing what I now know about them, I wouldn't spend the dollar. So it was fun as research, but I'm more attached to the memory of finding them than to the dolls themselves.

My first Jodi (the Kid Kore Kelly-equivalent) was another "only if it's $1" find for $1. I subsequently had a Jodi moment, comparing bodies from different trademark years. The long and short of it is, none of the Jodi bodies fit Kelly clothes, even though they claim to.

Hilary, in front, is a Creata "Today's Girl," their 6" line. Creata started with 6' dolls as younger sisters to their 11.5" Flower Princess Line, years before Mattel introduced Stacie. Today's Girls was immensely popular, with many variants. When Creata faded from the scene and Kid Kore appeared, they started with a 6" Girls Club doll that had the same body as Today's Girls but what later became the Katie head for their 7.5" (Stacie-sized) dolls. Both lines had ballet arms and no ability to sit like a lady. Girls Club dolls also appeared as younger sister Carla in 4-sister gift packs (Kelsey, Piper [Skipper-sized], Katie, and Carla). From time to time, I would threaten to document Today's Girls in full, but I never get to it; Crystalline Toybox is getting to it (yay!), so I feel no compunction in dropping this size. It was fun; my curiosity is satisfied.
