Desperation. The only explanation he could think of. There couldnât possibly be another reason for her to kiss him like this. Not that he was complaining. God no. The way her body pressed against his felt too nice. The way her tongue tasted. Maybe they could get along after all. The kiss broke and he almost leaned after. Almost. Ayn could still feel the hotness of her breath.
âF i n e. You can stay.Â
 But the minute youÂ
 piss me off, youâre
 outta here.â
It wasn't really Skye's way to just kiss someone to gain something from them, and so that hadn't been her intention at all. In all honesty, the brunette was still too messed up after what happened with Grant, and being here, talking to his big brother, it only stirred things within that she had tried to bury ever since she found out the role Grant played in the hydra-takeover.
Granted it was desperation on her end, but not in the way he perceived it to be. Not even close. Either way, she wasn't going to correct him, knowing that would give him far too much ammo to use against her in days to come.
Right now the hatred for Grant was the only thing they had in common, and if she were to show just how deeply her betrayer had wounded her, it might show Ayn just how weak she was where it came to the Ward in question. It would be stupid on her part, so she merely smiled as if pleased by the result.Â
âThanks...And I'm
 actually not allÂ
 that bad, y'know?
 We just got off
 on the wrong foot,
 I guess...â
