Okay…I just thought off something with Outlast 2.
So you find a note that explains the relays that are making the townspeople go crazy, and it’s heavily implied that a lot of the things they see are hallucinations (the flashbacks to the school, the rain of blood, the storm, etc.). It’s even implied Lynn’s pregnancy is a hallucination. Especially since she goes from flat stomach to super preggers over the course of supposedly 1 night. I believed this too since there was nothing else, but hear me out…
What if Lynn’s pregnancy wasn’t actually a hallucination? We know from the first game that Murkoff does some really messed up stuff. What if scientists retrieved Lynn from the crash while she was unconscious, impregnated her with some experiment that was made to grow to full-term over the course of 1 night, and then given to the cultists to fill out the narrative?
I mean…it’s not a perfect explanation, but it might explain why Lynn died of blood loss from a “hallucinated” birth and why there seemed to be no umbilical cord on the baby. Maybe it didn’t come out as a human baby and that’s why she said “there’s nothing there” but since Blake was still heavily influenced by the relays he saw it as a human?
@doingitwrongandlovingit I might be stupid but I need to hear your thoughts.
EDIT: No, no, no! Wait!!! I tagged this originally, but in the first game Billy’s Walrider was completely unseeable to the naked eye unless Miles had the night vision on his camera up. So what if it is a Walrider baby, which would explain why Lynn couldn’t see it as she was dying, but Blake could still feel the baby in his arms and the hallucinations from the relay still caused so he saw an actual baby.
If this is revealed in the DLC, someone owes me an ice cream sandwich I stg
Keep your chin up, Mr. Cox. As my great grandpappy always used to say, “Paaaaaaaaaants swag”. <3
