Cross Guild Polycule prompt: Buggy has been sleeping together with Mihawk and Crocodile for a few months now but they've never defined their relationship. Just one day Mihawk and Crocodile both took Buggy to their bed and without saying a word he was theirs. Buggy starts to feel queasy in the mornings and finally gets checked out. He's stunned when the doctor congratulates him on being pregnant. Buggy is left in utter chaos and terror as he wonders how Mihawk and Crocodile are going to respond. He sits on it for a day or two and then finally gathers his courage and tells Mihawk and Crocodile. He's expecting disgust and even Mihawk or Crocodile ordering him to get rid of it. What Buggy doesn't expect in a million years is for Mihawk to grab him and hug him and kiss him breathless and say thank you over and over again while looking opening overjoyed while Crocodile actually sheds a tear and can't even put his own happiness into words. Buggy is stunned that these two former warlords of the sea are not only thrilled at having a baby with him, but that they ever wanted babies with him at all. When Crocodile immediately goes into expectant dad mode and insists Buggy stay off his feet and Mihawk insists on cooking dinner for them because he has to feed his family, Buggy finally looses it and goes into full hysterics. They talk eventually but for now, its all about the chaos and euphoria of impending parenthood.

Depending on what the writer wants. No matter which one it is. The fact remains the same that those dumbasses don’t know safe sex. This wouldn’t be happening if the Cross Guild trio were being safe.
[Side Note: I know that I keep asking this every ask, that Crocodile and Mihawk must apologize to Buggy whether it’s heart-felt, begrudgely, or saying it and taking the time to build Cross Guild into a group that isn’t built on glass that could crack at any time. That the only way the relationship would actually work. Even if it’s not romantic relationship that the trio shares. Makes the most sense to me]
Apologies for the side tangent! Back to the prompt, that unsafeness leads to Buggy feeling very icky over the following weeks until his inner circle stamping their foot down and making Buggy go to the Cross Guild medical tent/building. Which either Buggy’s original doctor for his pirate crew; Maggie (Using my Buggy Pirate OC that is the crew’s doctor as an example) or the head doctor of the medical team. Buggy expected that he caught something like a flu, cold, or the worst thought of having an rare disease that will waste him away like Roger’s disease (Paranoia) But BUGGY WASN’T EXPECTING A PREGANCY! This was the one option that didn’t cross his mind. Buggy has to be experiencing mental whiplash as the doctor is cheerfully explaining things to their glorious chairman/captain.
But the cheerfulness dies down when the doctor realizes that the chairman wasn’t asking questions or speaking as Buggy is usually a chatty patient. The doctor looks back and sees Buggy stun-locked like the clown got statuefied by Hancock for pissing her off. Total blue-screened with the amount of thoughts running through his head in the matter of seconds. The doctor gonna be very worry.
Thoughts ranging from ‘How Did This Possibly Happen!?’ (Sweetheart… you're a pirate. And the times you do have sex, you usually don’t practice safe sex) to ‘Oh to the Sea Deity, I can't raise a kid!’ (Fair enough. I can’t see you being a good parent if you don't decide grow as a person) to whatever frantic thought crosses his mind to the complicated thought of ‘Should I abort it?’ (If that's what you want because you deem yourself unable to take care of a child properly so they can turn into a well-adjusted adult) Which this is what Buggy focus on once it pass through the front of his mind. He’s hyperventilating because of it as the minutes go by alongside just knowing that he’s having a baby.
Buggy has to be nervous and scared. Rightfully so with how the World Goverment is. Just look back at what happened to the island that Rouge was living on during her pregnancy with Ace. From what I remember, pretty sure every single person was murdered for knowing too much on what they were doing to pregnant people and people with infants. There was a Buster Call to the island and the Marines lied about who destoryed the island, stating that it was evil “pirates” that killed everyone.
Then seeing what happened to Ace when Blackbeard turned him in to the Marines. Instead doing what the World Government normally does with criminals of Ace’s caliber, which locking them deep within Impel Down, so they are never seen again. They made such a fuss about killing the child of Gol D. Roger. To me from what I remember, Ace was set to be executed not for the crimes he did as an pirate, more for who his father was (Of course, the Navy did use the fact that Ace was an pirate and what Ace did or supposedly “did” to tell common people - “Look here, he’s just like his father”)
So having a kid has huge consequences on Buggy and the Cross Guild. Unless this story takes place after whatever ending that One Piece will have. But even then that fear or uneasiness Buggy probably feels from what has happened in the past with Rouge and Ace. I’m thinking this story prompt feels more at home as an One Piece AU that extends the time between the Egghead arc, the Elbaf arc, and the following arcs that have yet to come, so this connection between Buggy, Mihawk, and Crocodile can bloosm. That raises the already high stakes that the trio, more specifically Buggy has to deal with.
But this is an story with Buggy decides to keep the child. Wanting (selfishly I might add) to have a kid of his own. Maybe Buggy never expected this to happened because he was told by many doctors that it's a near zero chance that Buggy could have a kid, so this may be the only time the clown could have a kid. Maybe Buggy always wanted a family, but felt like he didn't deserve or could have one.
There's a lot of angst ideas that can be played out about this.
And this leads to Buggy needing to tell Crocodile and Mihawk. Oh Stars, just thinking about talking to them about this, is causing Buggy to hyperventilating again. But Buggy has to steel his resolve.
So Buggy does talk to Mihawk and Crocodile about the baby (probably after telling his inner circle about it first. That clown is freaking out and it's up to his basically group of vice captains to tell him to take a deep breath and tell the two former Warlords about the kid that's either of theirs) Buggy may try to convey subtlely, but being fearful makes him trip on his words and become very embarrassed.
Causing him to struggle, and it doesn't help that Crocodile and Mihawk are not getting it.
That struggle makes everyone become more frustrated until Buggy decides to yeet caution to the wind and screams out that he's pregnant and one of them is the father. Betting there's a long window of silence after that, which worsens Buggy's fear, leading to the flashy pirate to cry in front of them.
Those tears did stop when Mihawk hugs Buggy, the clown is shocked into silence with how Mihawk is acting. Wondering if this is real life. So looking over to Crocodile, who is feeling a similar feeling of ‘is this reality?’ and stun-locked. Some tears drip down his cheek without noticing it when gathering his bearings to ask Buggy if he's not joking with them. Of course, Buggy isn't lying about this.
Love the ending of your prompt! Buggy going into full hysterics because Mihawk and Crocodile aren’t acting anything like what the flashy pirate thought those two would act, that’s so Buggy! 😆
