Her nightmares really were nothing--at least in comparison to Donny. Hers were infrequent, and she was always able to fall asleep after a glass of water. She hadn’t told anyone in the band about them because she knew they would have been grateful to have occasional nightmares. She was the lucky one.

She climbed out of bed. “Fix yourself up.”

“Stop, Donny.” She rubbed her eyes. The loss weighed deeply on her heart, as failure should. She hadn’t had a chance to be a mother yet, but maybe this was proof that she shouldn’t get it. “I don’t want to hear it.”
