#documenting my progress

I think my style of art as a whole is failing and I think I know why and it’s the same thing that has been continuing to happen as a draw. My background in focusingon realism hinders me, because I try too hard to mix cartoonism and realism. In developing my style I just worked backwards from realism, which ended up creating an amalgamation that doesnt really work as intended. And as I just keep drawing I begin leaning more and more towards a cartoony style and less realistic, and I should really just accept that instead of constantly trying to drag it back to something more realistic. I mean you can see it with how different that last Killua and Alluka’s faces were, I started getting very cartoony and tried to drag it back to the point it just felt weird and awkward. I kinda just need to accept that I can’t have everything in a perfect mix of realism and cartoonism unless I go for a full semi-realism style, which I only intend to do sparingly and not as my primary way of drawing. And then I need to take what it is and roll with it and improve it from there.
