Do you have any pointers for the vowel 'ah'? I don't like that vowel! Lol. I sound great on really forward vowels like "ee" or "eyh" and even "oh", but "ah" always falls into the back of my throat. The only way I can brighten it up is by switching from "eeeeeahhh" and then it makes it forward. But I can't seem to nail "ah" all by itself! So frustrating.
I think the issue with “ah” is that it’s so easy for it to get caught in the back of the mouth. So, essentially, we want to bring the resonance forward in the sound to get that focus that the other vowels have for you. One thing that will help is your mouth position. I think the instinct is often to keep the mouth in just a dropped jaw, open “oh” position for the “ah” vowel, but we want to adjust that position slightly. Draw back your lips slightly and even bare your teeth just a bit--imagine biting into an apple! Now, just try saying an open, bright “ah” sound. The bared teeth with help bring the sound forward in your mouth, and keep it from falling back into the throat! At the same time, this mouth position keeps the vowel deep and rich, not allowing it to become shallow or nasally!
