stephen would have liked to believe that nobody would find him here, that he was safe and out of harms way but it would be a mistake to trust loki. though he’d never dealt with him personally he’d seen and heard enough.
“what makes you think you can protect me?”
“The way I see it, you don’t have a much more favourable option. You can let me help you, or you can go back out there and have your face eaten off by those things your people let through.”
The god had set up a barrier at the entrance to the small hideout, overlaid with an illusion that would for now mask its presence from any inquisitive enemies. It wasn’t his preference for a place to stay, too cramped and plain, a simple bedsit crammed into a storage room. He didn’t plan on remaining in this dismal environment.
