Day 5. Well, we have gotten sleeping positions confirmed. The kid latching onto my abdomen keeps my gut covered while grounding me to the present, and my armored body keeps my kid safe.
I keep him safe, fed, and cared for, and in return, he gives me company and warns me of possible future dangers.
One day, I will help him get his own armor, and we will find our place in this galaxy, but for now, K and I are content with each other’s presence in our lives. Hard to believe that not even a week ago I was dying in an alleyway, and now I’m the parental figure of a child who will likely outlive me by a long time.
