Մեծ Եղեռն (Great Crime) Հայոց ցեղասպանություն (Arminian Genocide ) The #ArmenianGenocide which began on April 24 1915 was the extermination of its minority Armenian subjects inside their historic homeland, which lies within the present-day Republic of Turkey. The number of victims is estimated between 800,000 and 1.5 million. The starting date is conventionally the day Ottoman authorities rounded up, arrested, and deported some 250 Armenian intellectuals and community leaders from Constantinople to Ankara but the majority of them were eventually murdered as well. As an American who has recently been better educated on the history of the Armenian culture, I have put myself in their shoes. We are so quick to assume that we don't stop to question why?
