DAISY JOHNSONÂ APPRECIATION WEEK
day one: why you love daisy (x)
Iâve posted this edit before but it really sums up a big part of why I love Daisy. Her past doesnât define her but she carries it with her: the good, the bad, the painful, and the wonderful. Itâs made her who she is. And despite everything, by the end of the show, thereâs a sense of groundedness about her, a sense of calm. She knows exactly who she is.

Why I love Daisy Johnson
1. Her empathy - She has such a huge heart, always seeing people as people whenever she meets them. And she knows how to reach out to people in their own ways, like sitting with May in the cockpit when theyâve barely interacted at the time. She has such a read on people.
2. âBeing different can mean making a difference.â - Hearing her say this encouraged me to invest in myself and even start to just believe that I could bring change to the world. Maybe we are different because weâre meant to make a difference.
3. Her general badassery - Sheâs not a stereotypical skinny pale blonde, not that I have any problem with those who are, but sheâs out of the stereotypical and kicks ass. And she may look nothing like me, but just seeing someone whoâs different, and Asian like me, being one of the most powerful characters out there? It was one of the few times I felt empowered.
4. She stepped up and devoted herself to not only SHIELDâs purpose, but also to her motherâs legacy: leading a community of Inhumans. Pretty sure she didnât mean to lol but she lent a hand to any Inhuman in need, and itâs so cool that she continued her motherâs legacy despite the good and the bad that it comes with.
5. Control - She keeps her autonomy to herself, and that of others to their own, and the fact that she emphasizes this because itâs been taken away from her so many times, it taught me a lot. It changed my perspective on life. And maybe, just maybe, I could also help bring back control in a place thatâs been robbed of it again and again, if someone like her was able to do it repeatedly.
6. âTruth is, I canât keep the team together.â - Now that is one of the first times Iâve actually heard someone say no to leadership. Daisy being vocal to say that she doesnât want to lead (same sister, same) and surviving all of that responsibility until the opportunity to relent it was there, showed me that, if you donât want it, then donât, but if youâre left with no choice, fight like hell through it until youâre given a choice. And I think thatâs beautiful.
