Le Direct Ink Writing (DIW), parfois appelé Robocasting, est une technique de fabrication additive (impression 3D) qui se distingue par son utilisation de pâtes ou d’encres hautement visqueuses (d’où le terme « Ink » ou « Encre ») extrudées de manière très contrôlée. Il s’agit essentiellement d’une forme avancée d’extrusion de matériaux, mais conçue spécifiquement pour des substances qui ne sont pas des thermoplastiques classiques. Le DIW est particulièrement utilisé dans les environnements de recherche, pour la fabrication de matériaux fonctionnels et l’ingénierie avancée, où la compatibilité avec des matériaux non conventionnels est essentielle.
