rook sets down a plate of steak tartare in front of leona. nothing poisonous, not to worry. think of it as a peace offering... or bait, if one interprets that smile this way.
Eyes instantly fall on the delicacy the hunter's holding, his hunger making itself known as his ears perk and tail flicks impatiently. Steak tartare was hard to come by on campus, none of the ghost chefs seemingly willing to serve the dish. Something about being too complicated to prepare. A flimsy excuse, but given even the meat was subpar quality, Leona wasn't surprised.
Rook had good timing, having come with the meal when Ruggie was running late from his last class. Any guarantee of Leona getting his menchi katsu sandwich dashed, leaving him on his own to get his own food. It made the other's bait much more tempting...
Still, it doesn't mean Leona goes for it as the plate is presented to him, his gaze merely lingering on the fresh meat. Even when hungry, he's not willing to accept anything offered by the hunter, much less in a time of need. Not to mention that smile made him doubt this was an act of goodwill.
"Huh, so you do know your target. Pretty thoughtful of you~," he taunts instead, finally dragging his gaze up towards the blond. Placing a single digit on the plate's rim, he pushes it back towards Rook, a rare invitation to partake in his food. "Try it first. I might eat some if it's that good." He doubts it's been poisoned, not picking up on anything beyond the spices on it. But given the type of magic the hunter was capable of, one could never be too safe.
