The Diva Revolution in WWE is kind of a joke. NXT is doing main events with their ladies while WWE is just kinda. ...there. wheeee....

Because I have an active writing mind, and it is a month for writing… Here’s how I’d book a proper WWE “Diva’s Revolution.” Now I’m using my choice of wrestlers in this, so feel free to substitute your own picks.

We start at the Royal Rumble. Around entrant 18-20, your alumni women’s wrestler appears. My picks: Alundra Blayze or Ivory, though I’m going with Ivory for this. Ivory holds her own until the final 3, and gets taken out under questionable means by one of your current heel tag champs.

Next night on Raw, you setup your feud between Ivory and the tag champs. Ivory recruits an upcoming star, we’re going with Asuka from NXT for this. She looks ready to murder anyone when she smiles, and is easily sold as a badass. Your tag feud runs for the next PPVs, the heels only keeping their titles through cheating. At Wrestlemania, Ivory/Asuka take the titles. Cleanly or in a poetic justice moment.

Next few months, they defend their titles against all comers. Men, women, mixed teams (one of them being the US champ teamed with the Diva’s champ), and they retain them until Summerslam.

The US and Diva’s champ cost them the titles, setting up for Asuka to go after the Diva’s title, and Ivory the US title. After a classic Survivor Series team-up in November, both ladies see victories in the December PPV, finishing the year on a high note.

Royal Rumble, one year after story start. Ivory loses the US title. During the Rumble, more ladies join the event, taking up at least 1/3 of the entry spots. Ivory and Asuka in the final four. Both ladies eliminate the competition on opposite sides of the ring at the same time. They back up into each other, spin around and face off. One of them is guaranteed the main event at Wrestlemania. Ivory tells Asuka, “Make it count!” And BAM Torch Pass moment as Ivory eliminates herself. Asuka is getting her shot at the WWE Title and main event at Wrestlemania.

The current champ, someone weasly and a real cockbag of a heel, so probably Seth Rollins, spends the months leading up to match mskkng Asuka’s life hell. Using his backstage influence, he runs her through opponent after opponent, run-ins, beat downs, everything. Its clear he knows what she’s capable of, maybe even having experienced it firsthand during the tag run, and does NOT want her 100% for the match.

Then leading up to the last ppv before Wrestlemania, the swerve. Due to wording in the contract, if Asuka loses at the next PPV, her opponent becomes the new #1 contender. And her opponent is… IVORY. Seems Seth and his cronies have made her an offer she could not turn down. Can Asuka defeat her former partner? Well.. yeah. At the PPV it turns out Ivory and Asuka were playing Seth the entire time. Now nothing is the way of the Main Event and gold.

Wrestlemania, main event, story’s climax. You have the match be an all out WAR. Both pull out all the stops, but neither will stay down. The ending can go one of two ways: 1. Seth wins, but it is clear he only scraped by. Hits Asuka with his finisher, but instead of pinning, picks her up and hits it again. It was the only way he got out with the belt. 2. Asuka wins. We get our first woman as WWE Champion. Also putting her in the books as both Diva AND WWE champion simultaneously.

Either way, the story concluded, the doors are now and forever opened for the ladies to strike out beyond the Diva’s division. Your revolution has truly begun.

“The horrible irony is that by creating the (TM) Diva’s Revolution (TM), the WWE is in danger of destroying the actual revolution in women’s wrestling by taking all of its women and trying to push them all at the same time. When nine women struggle for the microphone, it has stripped every individual involved of their characters and created a sanctimonious, repetitive mess that’s damaging to everyone.

Sasha is fading to the background, ditto Becky Lynch and Charlotte has been reduced to being Rick Flair’s daughter. A divition is made up of characters and “woman” isn’t a character!”
