Finger portraits of famous people make quite the impression
Italian artist Dito Von Tease’s series Ditology cleverly features Von Tease’s finger as the canvas for digital manipulations that incorporate the faces of well known people and fictional characters including Ronald McDonald, Sherlock Holmes, Gene Simmons and more. Interestingly enough, ‘dito’ is Italian for finger, and apart from his fingerprint being in every photo, nobody actually knows Dito Von Tease’s real identity.

Il progetto Ditology è partito nel 2009, con una pagina Facebook, dove dietro lo pseudonimo di Dito Von Tease si cela un art director, illustratore e graphic designer italiano, che per sfuggire alla vita reale, ha trovato rifugio nascondendosi per l'appunto dietro a un dito. Un dito perché in fondo, tutti noi ci nascondiamo dietro un’immagine che vogliamo dare di noi stessi. Nasce così Ditology e dopo una serie di “diti” travestiti da personaggi della vita quotidiana, come il wrestler, la suora, il tatuato, la segretaria… Il primo personaggio famoso è stato Gene Simmons dei Kiss e da lì Mickey Mouse, Frida Kahlo ecc.
