So... Would that keep it alive in the Land of the dead of the events of the movie "Coco" are also accepted as existing in the same Canon?

So my nephew is in love with Coco, despite only being 5 months. It is his favorite thing to watch, I have no idea how many times I've watched it this week but it's probably close to 100. (I kid...I think)

Anyways remember how that skeleton who works in Bureau of Family Generations tells him he's cursed because he stole from the dead.

Well I've been thinking, the guitar really was Hector's so he was in fact stealing his great great grandfather's guitar. So I thought more, would that really be considered stealing? But as I argued with myself, "well it had to be the guitar, he didn't steal anything else." But that's just it!

Miguel did steal something else! Remember when he's going to De la Cruz's tomb and Dante is barking at him, what does he do to stop him? He grabs an offering (A drumstick/chicken leg) from someone's tombstone and throws it for Dante. What if that's what he "stole"?

Now I know what you're going to bring up. The fact that when he goes back to the land of the living he gets sent right back to the land of the dead after he tries to take the guitar again. I would argue with you there that that's merely because of the conditions Mama Imelda put down. She said no more music. Well he "broke the promise" as she said and maybe that's why he got sent back.
