You had bumped into each other often when you were kids

One day you realized he loved the story of the treasure too

You bonded over that, discussing it for hours on end

When you were children, you were convinced that it was real

You talked about Flint and about the treasure, about the possibilities

Even when you grew up, a part of you believed it to be real still

Being there for Jim when his father left him

Your friendhsip really helped him during those tough times

But not even you could fill that void for him, only lessen it a bit

Jim’s mom really likes you and thinks you can be good for him

Sometimes you do stop him before he gets in trouble

Other times, more often than you’d like, he pulls you in instead

Dropping by the inn and even helping sometimes

Jim’s mom always smiles when she sees you, she’s fond of you

“Hi, Mrs Hawkins” “Call me Sarah”

“Hear that? You can call hear Sarah, not even I get to do that”

“Jim, stupid, you call her mom!”

Racing each other and having fun together

Having lots of inside jokes and ways to make the other laugh

As well as ways to cmfort each other when you’re feeling down

They often mistake you for sibligns since you’re always together

And in a way you are siblings, you’re definitely like family

Things being turned into friendly competition. “First one to that tree gets the other’s dessert.” “Bet I could climb higher than you.” And so on.

Merida venting to you when she gets frustrated. She’d just need you there to listen to her so she felt heard.

Getting into trouble together. Her parents would follow the rule that while you’re under their roof, you get punished just the same. Well, at least the Queen would,

Merida helping you learn to shoot a bow, or help you improve if you already know the basics.

Going on adventures together; riding further than you’ve ever gone, going to places you’ve never seen, and finding your way back again. As long as someone knows where you are.

Staying up late, laughing the night away while you tell stories and old fables.

Pulling pranks on each other now and again. Nothing that purposefully causes damage, of course. Just innocent fun.
