Lol of course. Hypocrisy is a key element in this. The entire conception of bastardry is rotten, not only in OUR context but in the very context of the story. The author presents it as rotten and disgusting and unjust and simply something that needs to disappear. The author presents the people who condone this as religious hypocritical fanatics, antagonists at best, pure evil at worst. And then our current enlightened fanbase says shit like that, quote :
