Steve growled with animalistic ferocity, launching himself at his purple skinned opponent with a merciless intensity to his practiced advancements, driving them back step by step from the edge of the cliff where his injured brother had been cornered.
He was no rookie to the concept of battle, having helped Creepy Crepsley (whom’s nickname he still refused to quit applying on an at least somewhat regular basis) with the job of offing Murlough a few years prior in order to rescue Evra. He still shuddered sometimes, remembering his brothers and friend, so close to being at the nutter’s mercy.
The experience had changed him, and ever sense he’d taken to practicing his own skills as a combatant relentlessly, even forming an act around his knack for wielding all things dangerous for a time with Sam as his “Assistant."
Assistant, he snorted at the irony.
As was the norm for Darren, his brother had been less inclined to take part in such vampiric activities of honing violent skill, despite even Sam trying to convince him otherwise.
Steve had attempted to understand his middle sibling’s many aversions, even after all of these years with the blood of the night and a shared sire running through their veins, but at this moment he was ever so tempted to strangle Darren, because even a basic knowledge of the gory arts would’ve prevented such helplessness in the face of danger.
And this particular issue, this vampaneze issue, this issue with yet another purple skinned bastard who lacked even a semblance of civility, was definitely a danger.
