So grateful to have one of the last copies of photographer Kristin Gallegos @kristingallegos beautifully printed book ‘Disappear Here: Series Two’ featuring Emily Labowe as The Writer, Laurel Canyon, 2021. Her first book in this series stars Cora Keegan as The Dancer and pays homage to Gallegos former life as a classical ballet dancer. Each character in this series of four books is inspired by her own life and her film heroines. The second picture of Emily Labowe is an homage to the famous photographs of Joan Didion with her Corvette Stingray by Julian Wasser taken in 1968 just after the release of ‘Slouching Towards Bethlehem’ for Time magazine. There are lots of homages to Joan in this book including her love of ice cold Coca-colas, eating almonds, smoking cigarettes and oversized sunglasses.
