It's a wrap 🙌 Reposted from @fairlifeafrica - We promised more pictures from our most #collaborative year as we celebrate 8 years in pictures! 2015 was that year!!! It was so amazing. We were buzzed from redefining our programme and starting our new #initiative, #DisadvantageToAdvantage that supports #lesspriviledged #children through #school. We had so many events and pictures to choose from, we had to give you a bonus picture 🙌 1. We invited our friends to celebrate with us at @TerraKulture when we marked four years. We enjoyed a play and a lovely meal 😄 2. We partnered with @mrbuddysalsa and friends to do another #FlashMob at #SilverbirdGalleria for #ValentinesDay! So awesome 💃💃 💃 . 3. We celebrated #InternationalWomensDay by visiting @ladymechanicinitiative, where our girls learnt how to fix cars 😁 4. We also celebrated #MothersDay by paying a visit to @kinabuti, where our girls learnt about #fashiondesign. 5. On Children's Day, we made our first visit to #DreamWorldAfricana and our kids had the time of their lives 🙌 6. For #FathersDay @jrhythm_rap and friends took our boys to play football! So much fun 😃 7. We did our very first #SummerCamp programme with the help of #AbeSoyemi and friends. It was four weeks of awesomeness 💪 8. And the grand finale was our #FLATalentSearchWeek with @ultimalimited, where @babajideguerrero shined as the host 😘 So many other wonderful people were involved. 9. BONUS PIC - Our outing to the #beach to celebrate #IndependenceDay! As you can see, the #FLAKids had a whale of a time 😂 So, that's all folks. #FriendshipFriday with @fairlifeafrica One of the things we love about friends is that they are helpful people! They understand that everyone needs help sometimes, and they never shame nor judge you for being in need, but rather seek to know how they can help. They say that it is in a time of crisis that you can tell a true friend! We came across a family of five, who were referred to us by a Church in April, because their mother approached them in urgent need of accomodation, feeding and support to rebuild their lives. A number of issues led to this beautiful family being stranded and homeless, and we decided to assist the Church in accommodating them for a couple of weeks, while they help them to secure a new home. However, the children weren't able to attend school this third term, because they hadn't even finished settling second term fees, and were now miles away from home. Also, the prospects of them returning to school without aid is really slim. We are concerned for their education, and have assessed them all. Three of the children qualify for enrolment in our Disadvantage to Advantage Initiative, being within the age range of 9 and 17 years old and also being academically brilliant and less fortunate. They are the newest members of our waiting list for sponsors, which now has 40 children in need! We really hope someone will come along and sponsor this family, or even just one of the children.
