Y'all okay so I've been exercising more recently, and I do recognise it'll probably get hard again especially when uni vac is over, but for now it's been a lot easier and I want to share my tips!
Also btw the exercises I do are a routine from my biokineticist. We started with all lying down exercises and then added sitting and then standing ones. The whole routine takes between 20 and 40 minutes depending on how slow I go and how many sets of each I do.
1. I cannot reward myself for exercising, it doesn't work, I'm not strict enough with myself and I don't have anything I couldn't just do anyway. But my mom - I can make her be strict!
So last month I didn't make my goal but she was gonna buy me a small eyeshadow palette. This month I'm definitely gonna make my goal and she is gonna help me dye my hair. It's been motivating enough that it helps me get that little push to do it.
2. Doing it makes me feel good so once I'm doing it, it is its own reward. Also the more regularly I've been exercising, the easier it has become to get started.
3. I found this lady on youtube who does yoga for chronically ill people. Many of her videos can be done in bed. They're all really gentle, just getting your body moving. And she usually offers alternatives and ways to make poses easier for different bodies.
On the days I don't do my exercises I've been trying to do at least one of her videos so I at least move my body a little.
I've been trying to start every day with this video, and it has helped me feel a little more energised in the morning (and maybe all day but I haven't been doing it long enough to be convinced it isn't other factors).
4. Sometimes I listen to music while doing it but sometimes I just keep rewatching whatever I was rewatching. This helps if I'm feeling antsy and kind of bored of exercising.
