So last night the Leafs won, 5-2 at that. Against Tampa Bay at that! JVR kicking butt in that game, amazing! We needed that win after 2 abysmal performances. This is the team we know and love.

So you would think of the reporters are going to talk about that? NOPE. ALL I have seen or heard today regarding the leafs is about this stupid salute thing not happening, apparently called saluteghazi? Randy Carlyle had an almost 9 minute video today with the press and a good chunk was about the lack of salute after the game. Oh boo hoo they're insulting the fans. Umm no, they are not. They couldn't possibly be stupid enough to do that considering (minus a few nuts) they have an amazing fan base. Exactly what Dion said today, he was like wtf no this isn't fan related you stupid reporter trying to make stories out of nothing because apparently a win isn't a good enough story? Most of us fans wouldn't have even known about the lack of salute if the media hadn't decided to blow it up. It's all like gossip, I feel like I'm reading and watching celebrity tabloids, but THIS IS HOCKEY PEOPLE! Heck, Joffrey Lupul WHO DIDN'T EVEN PLAY LAST NIGHT, was pestered for FOUR minutes straight about the lack of salute after the game. He's like guys I didn't even play and of course we wouldn't diss our fans. Mr sports reporter guy, don't you have better things to ask Lupul? Like HEY OH YEAH Lupul is injured, maybe I should check the status of his injury? Maybe I should ask if he's going to play Saturday against Detroit? BUT OH NO, let's ask him about something that happened after the game when HE WASN'T EVEN ON THE ICE!

I normally am not this annoyed at the media but come on this is out of control. It's like when a mere few days ago the whole sports world was all abuzz because oh boo hoo Kessel didn't want to talk after a loss. OF COURSE HE DIDN'T! He is allowed to tell you to go away. He is what, top 3 in the NHL for points? Leave him alone. Let him be sad in peace after a terrible game. No need to go after him. These sports writers are WAY out of stories if this is the garbage they go after. It's not like Kessel told him to f-off. It's not like the team said that to the fans either.

So as a Leafs fan, and obviously passionate one, can we get back to the actual hockey?

Look at that face, c'mon, how could you ever try to make him look bad media? HOW?

The rochester red wings play with desperation and get the win. Leafs play lazy and bring tepid offensive and shitty defence and lose. Enough talk about "home ice advantage" let's just make the fucking post-season.

Extremely dirty plays by both Legwand (the trip on Phanuef) and Franzen (slew foot on Kadri) but whatever. The buds still deserved to lose.

I have no specific predictions for tomorrow but a Leafs win in the second game of a back-to-back is more rare than a content Leafs fan so....draw your own conclusions. The excuse tomorrow night will be that they were sad after tonight's "emotional" loss.
