The lore:

Besides Earth, there exists another world in our universe. We shall call it "The other world". Once upon a time in this world, dinosaurs, dragons and humans all lived in harmony. The dragons and dinosaurs had special powers and abilities, and in order to form a peace treaty, they decided to lock their powers in a special crystal called Rockfroz.

But the concentration of such immense power was too much, and ended in disaster — the Rockfroz burst, scattering the fragments in different parts of the world. The radiation of such power ended up creating mutants — dragon-human hybrids who could shift into their individual parts at will. They were stronger, and more powerful. (The dinosaur power did not have this ability to blend with human genes)

At this time, Valtor Neceron, one of the dragons, realised that the dragon race is truly powerful, and with effort they could rule the word. He felt into greed and ascended the throne, becoming supreme King of the dragons. The dragons sensed the presence of the rockfroz fragments containing dragon power, and gathered them all and handed it to Neceron, who kept it locked away in the land of the dragons. This made the race stronger, and nearly undefeated.

Soon, Neceron's army began hunting dinosaurs, attempting to eradicate the race. They kidnapped humans and dumped them in the mines, making them slave away to extract precious stones for the dragons' hoards. Thus began the merciless rule of the dragons.

Among the humans lived knowledgeable shamans who had the ability to see the future. One of them uttered a prophecy — Four special dinosaurs called the Dinofroz from another world would arrive and they would save this world from the rule of the dragons. Neceron caught wind of this prophecy, and decided that if the dinosaurs would ever show up, he would defeat them.

The fragments of rockfroz contained the dinosaur powers remain undiscovered till date.

The characters: inhabitants of the only village that is yet to be destroyed by dragon invasions

Saladin: The leader of the village, also the Shaman who prophecized about the arrival of Dinofroz.

Bloom: She is a human with the power of the Dragon Flame — she can manipulate fire, but cannot turn into a dragon. She is not a mutant, just another anomaly as a result of the rockfroz radiation.

Stella: another villager, skilled in sewing and weaving. She works as a seamstress in the village.

Flora: expert in healing potions and medicinal herbs. She works as a healer in the village.

Aisha: teaches self-defense to the children and adults in the village, so that they can protect themselves from the invasions.

Tecna: prepares weapons for the village

Helia: grandson of the Shaman

Other characters:

Nabu: a nomad, the only survivor of a tribe that was kidnapped by the dragons. He tries survives and explores the world, keeps a low profile so that he wouldn't be spotted by the dragons.

Nelsten: Nabu's pet mammoth. Nabu found him injured after Neceron killed the mammoth family, and nursed him back to health. The reason for Neceron's attack on the mammoths remains unknown.

🪽 Characters [earth]

The four main characters of this au will be the OG specialist squad: Sky, Brandon, Riven and Timmy :D They will all be from earth.

1. Sky: The son of a famous palaeontologist James Carter who went missing when sky was only child, and so having no parent left to take care of him, he was adopted by this guy called Erendor who gave him lodging and money in exchange for work. Erendor treated him horribly but sky had no choice but to stay because he did not have anywhere else to go. Once he turned 18, he ran away (Erendor tried to keep him for selfish reasons) and moved in with his best friend. got a decent job at a food chain and saved up money for college (he wants to pursue architecture).

Transformation: blue T-Rex

2. Brandon: Sky's childhood friend and also best friend who has lived in the house next to Erendor's place. Brandon moved out after he turned 18, and Sky became his roommate not long after. Brandon is pursuing compsci. He is the eldest son and he has 3 sisters, so he feels a sense of responsibility towards them, and always feels that he needs to be the light of the room and needs to be there for everybody.

Transformation: green Triceratops

3. Riven: Works in the same food chain as Sky. He is a trapeze artist that performs in the city's local circus since he was a kid, and also works an additional job at the food chain where he befriended Sky. His performances are on the weekends. He hides his circus background from his friends as he feels they might look down on him, and he's insecure about it because although he loves it, he doesn't want to perceived as the "weird kid". He'd rather be alone but Sky invites him to hangout with the rest of them, and he pretends he doesn't give a shit but he actually cares a lot. He grew up in a circus with very different people, so he is really wary of those that are not his circus family. Also, a buttload of trust issues.

Transformation: deep purple Smilodon

4. Timmy: He is Brandon's classmate and friend. He is really passionate about electronics and has built all kinds of funky devices. The only reason he's in college is for the piece of paper called a degree and also to make connections. He's normally shy except for when he needs to yap about anything science and tech related. He's from a decent family, but he is not very close to them and prefers to pave his own path.

Transformation: yellow Pterodactyl

How the four of them met: So sky and brandon are besties, brandon and timmy got close in college, then sky and riven became friends, and so the four of them started to hang out often.

I gave riven john's backstory bc I feel like john's personality fit him better. Also brandon gets Bob's transformation bc brandon as a triceratops is so funny to me XD

All hail dinowinx's first ever post :D This post will deal with the premise of the show and the lore for the altered dinowinx au!

A summary of the show Dinofroz:

A world where dinosaurs, dragons and humans lived in the same timeline of the prehistoric era. Only a special rock called Rockfroz would be able to save the world from the merciless rule of the dragons who have been killing and exploiting all other beings in the world to gain superiority. Four people called "Dinofroz" are destined to be the ones to retain all the fragments of Rockfroz that are spread out in the prehistoric world, and bring the dragons under control.

Altered au: DINOWINX THE LORE

[this au will retain very few OG characters from dinofroz, and the rest will be winxies]

A palaeontologist called James Carter has been unearthing huge fossils of dinosaurs and what looked like dragon fossils from a particular area, all dating back to similar time periods, which suggests that dragons have existed and have lived with dinosaurs many centuries ago. He also discovered fragments of shiny rock in the area that didn't match the composition of any known minerals till date when analysed by a scientist, Codatorta. Together, the two of them decide to explore the location and see if they can find something to prove James's most passionate theory: that there exists different worlds in the universe, and what is considered as mythical could very well exist in those worlds, and have been passed on as stories turned legends and myths over the years.

They assembled all the unearthed rock fragments and ended up opening a wormhole. James was ecstatic - here lies the proof that there exists connected worlds. Codatorta, however, suggested that they take their time, and create a sort of man-made gateway to the other world with the help of the energy from both the wormhole and the rock fragments, so that they have control over the entrance instead of trusting a wormhole whose responsiveness is unpredictable. Together, they created a board-game like device with clear instructions on how to use it - the board would allow them to visualize and map out everything that they could see in the other world, in realtime. The rock fragments' connection to both earth and the other world aided this device to be created.

When the device was finally ready to be tested, James volunteered to use it first. However, when James entered the gateway, Codatorta stayed back to monitor the situation through the holographic display. The theory turned out to be correct -- the world consisted of dinosaurs and dragons. But one of the dragons captured James and imprisoned him, and the device that connected James to earth shattered, leaving him forever stranded in that world. Codatorta panicked, hid away the device in James's lab, and never set foot in that place again, not knowing what to do or how to fix it. He chickened out last minute, and resorted to continuing his profession as a teacher + scientist in a university. James Carter remains missing till date.
