Summary: Dino has vices, as everyone does, but one vice in particular makes Talcott nervous.
Characters: Dino Ghiranze, Talcott HesterÂ
Day: 6
Prompt: Heartbreak / Vices
Warnings: Light cursing
Wordcount: 843
âAre you ever going to give that stuff up?â
Dinoâs eyes slowly lifted from the glass heâd been turning against the table to look up, then smirk at Talcott as he rested his hands on his hips.
âOne day maybe,â and when Talcott gave him another look he laughed. âCâmon Bambino, every man has his vices.â
âWhile that might be true, I thought you gave that specific one up.â Talcott gestured to his glass with his chin.
âYa remind me of Charlie,â Dino laughed again then let his hand rest on the table next to to the glass of whiskey heâd been slowly turning in his fingers. âAnd honestly, I gave up quite a few of my vices. I quit gamblinâ. I quit cheatinâ people outta things...I mostly quit smokinâ...â
That got Talcott to lift a brow and Dino to chuckle again. He gestured to the empty chair next to him as the teen took a seat. âYa do know also, that it isnât safe for ya to keep coming back here, Little Bambino.â
âWill you stop with the little part, Iâm almost seventeen years old! Iâm no longer little.â
Dino chuckled softly. âTo me, youâre always gonna be my little bambino.â and he laughed softly when Talcott rolled his eyes.
âDinoââ
âHmn?â
ââitâs been a long time since youâve had a drink. You sure you should take that one now?â
âListen to me Bambino,â Dino said with a sigh but gave Talcott a gentle smile. âThe world has gone utterly to shit, and while I am doinâ what I can to help all of ya out, ya gotta let me have just a little something. Even if it is a cigarette once in awhile, even though theyâre stale as the night is long, or a drink. I ainât gonna hurt myself or do nothinâ thatâll cause anyone to worry about me. That me has been long goneâis long gone.â
âI-I know Dino Iâm sorry forââ
âNah, donât apologize. I get that you're worried. Hell, if I was in your shoes, I would be too. But itâs been a good twenty years since I last let myself slip into the warm embrace of an alcoholic stupor. I promise ya, just because Iâm havinâ this,â and Dino glanced down to the amber liquid in his glass. âI ainât going back to that way of livinâ. I got too much worth fightinâ for in my own way right now. Capisce?âÂ
When Talcott sighed and gave him a nod, Dino huffed and reached over to snatch Talcottâs hat off his head so he could ruffle his hair underneath.
âAH! Hey! Dino! What the?!â
With a laugh Dino held his hat just out of his reach, then laughed more when he struggled to grab it from his outstretched arm.
âDino! Give it back!â
âWhat! Ya look good without it! Hairâs kinda mussed up butââ
âDammit Dino! Gimme my hat!â
ââbut hat hair isnât entirely a bad look on ya!â and with another chuckle he put Talcottâs hat back on his head, and turned it sideways causing the young man to pause and blink up at him.
âI appreciate ya worryinâ about your olâ pal Dino, but Iâm fine, yeah?â
Talcott blinked again, then laughed softly as he put his hat back the way it was supposed to be. âYeah yeah, ok ok. Fine. Be that way, but...if you need someone to talk to, you knowââ
âDonât worry Kid, Iâm pretty sure I know where to find ya.â
Talcott looked at Dino surprised then smiled. âYeah, I suppose you do.â and after a short pause of silence he got back to his feet. âI guess Iâd better finish up that run of supplies. You sure you donât wanna come back with me this time?â
âNah, I got a few of the Glaives headinâ out this way to meet me with some information, not right that I ainât here to meet âem.â
âOkay, but...Iâll be back out this way in a few days, Iâll see you then?â
âCourse you will little bambino,â and Dino laughed as Talcott rolled his eyes. âIâll be here waitinâ for ya.â
Talcott smiled. âAlright then, see you later Dino, say hi to Cat for me.â
âWill do, be safe out there Bambino! I expect ya to come back without a scratch!â
Talcott gave him a gentle wave over his shoulder as he headed back out to the boardwalk to head towards his truck. A sigh passed Dinoâs lips as he looked back down at the glass by his hand before he huffed out a little laugh. Talcott would be one to worry about him.
Picking up the glass he brought it to his nose, inhaling the scent of the old whiskey heâd been saving. With a sigh he moved to hold his arm over the railing to promptly dump the liquor into the water below. A smile pulled at his lips as he shook his head, and set the empty glass back down on the table.
âNo use makinâ the kid worry, I sâposeâŠâ

I HC Dino to have been the son of Mafioso, and his Uncle Charlie takes him in, but the ties of the Mafia never really leave him, and Dino continues to run the Ghiranze Family. I have so much more to write for him and his Uncle itâs not even funny, but--
Letâs start things off shall we?
Summary: There is so much more to Dino Ghiranze than he lets on. And his Uncle of course, loves to remind him of such.
Characters: Dino Ghiranze, Charlie Ghiranze [Uncle], Coctura Arlund
Day: 1
Prompt: Secret Life/Questionable Past
Warnings: None
Wordcount: 655
If there was one thing about Dino Ghiranze that everyone knew, it was the man had secrets.
Sure, everyone knew about the reporter-turned-jeweler was big into having people fetch stones for him. And also, everyone knew that he was doing what he could to keep people safe, with information and accessories. But there were things about the guy that just didnât mesh. Small little things that just made people wonder just what he was hiding.
But Dino isnât one that would tell his secrets easily, and rumors and made up stories of him spread the more popular his work became. Rumors of things like what his family might have been like? How did a guy with a thick accent from the region of Accordo, land in the Quay? What were the exact connections that got him here? And were the rumors about his family true? Those dark rumors of things underground?
Anytime anyone asked him about it, heâd give a charming smile and a light tilt of his head before asking in return. âTell me Doll, what do you think?â and heâd dance around the question with more of his own only to laugh softly as the one asking the questions would become more flustered with the outcome, and storm off, but not without one of his pieces.
Coctura had gotten used to being flooded with questions, as she seemed closest to the aspiring jeweler but she too, had no answers. It eventually got so bad that she had Dino write an article about himself, to which she keeps copies of at her counter, to pass out when people would start to ask her about him.
His article of course provides nothing more than the basics.
âYa do know, Kid, that youâre gonna drive everyone around ya crazy with this right?â the deep baritone voice mumbled softly as itâs owner took a seat next to Dino on the bench overlooking the pier. A cane rested between them, and silence came with it for a moment before Dino chuckled.
âThatâs all part of the game,â turning grey eyes to the older gentleman a fond smile played over Dinoâs lips. âIâm willinâ to wait and see who actually wants to take the time to get past all the bullshit, and see who wants to know âbout the real me.â
With a nod of his head, the older gentleman smiled then looked out over the water. âRemind me of your Ma more and more every day.â
A comfortable silence grew between the pair before Dino eventually turned to his new bench occupant. âThanks for that, Charlie.â
âHeh, sure thing Kid, sheâd be right proud of ya, yâknow.â
Dino smiled a bit more to that before looking out at the water. âI take it the restaurant is empty up there?â
âWouldnât be down here talkinâ to ya Kid if there were still ears about.â Charlie said with a soft smile. âWouldnât want the rumors âboutâcha beinâ the head of a âFamilyâ to actually get out and about now, would ya?â
âOh theyâre already out there,â Dino said with a laugh. âI mean, it does make it easier to hide it donât it?â with a smirk, Charlie reached over and ruffled Dinoâs hair causing Dino to click his tongue loudly and leaned away. âHey hey! Do not touch the hair!â
âHa, like I could mess up that hairdo with all the shit ya put in it. Hell a hurricane could come along and not a hair would be outta place!â Charlie smiled, his eyes crinkling with it a little. âAnd about the rumors? I sâpose it does. Well then, Mr. Ghiranze, should I report in?â
âTch, Mr. Ghiranze he says. Thatâs your thing. Youâre the head of this family, Iâm just...along for the ride, yâknow? Makinâ sure ya donât slander my last name nâall.â
Charlie laughed again, his voice growing soft and fond. âRight. Whatever ya say Boss.â
Summary: Dino comes to realize that the four men that heâs grown to know over the last few months, mean something to him. Something more than just friends.
Characters: Dino Ghiranze, Noctis Lucis Caelum, Prompto Argentum, Ignis Scientia, Gladiolus Amicitia
Day: 2
Prompt: Night on the town / Day on the battlefield
Warnings: None
Wordcount: 641
Watching them move about like a team rendered him a bit speechless, if he was being honest with himself. And honestly, it made him feel a little jealous. His posture straightened as Noctis rushed in, to be followed by Ignis in a dual attack, rendering their target prone.
Grey eyes darted over to Prompto and Gladio who, with their backs turned to the others, did a dual attack of their own. Dino was in awe at the dynamic, then watched it flip, and he felt his breath hitch.
Gladio moved swiftly, rushing to Noctisâ side to give him cover, and leverage, while Prompto had turned in time to shoot back an enemy that had gotten a bit too close to Ignisâ side. And it happened so fast. So seamlessly. All without a word to each other...and it put a smile on the Jewelerâs lips.
Till that sick twist in his gut grew.
His brows furrowed into a slight scowl, more at himself than anything. He was a grown ass man, thereâs no way in Astrals name that he was jealous because of the friendship--no brotherhood they shared.
Was he?
When the four of them started to wander back towards camp, he pushed his hands into his front pockets, and laughed softly...more so at himself.
âYa looked good out there!â
âH-huh?â Prompto stammered.
âAw câmon sunshine! Ya know what I mean.â and Dino smirked as Prompto seemed to blush a bit more.
âN-No actually. I um--I donât.â
That caused Dino to blink at the young blond before his own smile returned, and he slapped a hand on his shoulder. âYa fight like a team. I donât see one of ya not supportinâ the other. Itâs like all of ya move, and know almost instantly where the other one is.â
âOh.â Prompto then blinked, and smiled softly.
âThat took us a bit of doing I suppose, but I would have to agree with Mr. Ghiranze, we do fight quite well together.â Ignis remarked.
âHow many times do I gotta tell ya Specs? Call me Dino yeah?â
âPerhaps when you call me my correct first name, Mr. Ghiranze,â Ignis smirked a little. âI shall.â
Dino blinked. âWait, did he justâya mean to tell me Ignis smiles?â
âYeah,â Noctis said with a bit of light laughter in his voice. âAnd he usually only does that if he likes you.â
âYour Highness, pleaseâŠâ
Gladio let out a bark of laughter. âOh boy, here we goâŠâ
Dino smiled a bit more, that pit in his gut eased by their light banter. Jealous right now though he may be, they were letting him see something that was quite rare in the world.
And honestly, the fact that theyâd shared it with him?
His eyes widened a little at the sudden realization that hit him like a swift kick from a Spiracorn to the back of his head.
He wasnât jealous. He was smitten; with all four of them.
Blinking once, he shook his head a little to clear his thoughts as Prompto patted his shoulder and gestured for him to get closer to take one of the chairs that surrounded the fire at camp.
Ignis had started to prepare the evening meal, and Gladio laugh-snorted at something Noct was doing in Kingâs Knight with him on his phone.
âHey, you gonna join us?â Prompto asked with a smile as he settled into his chair and pulled out his phone. Dino smiled as he felt his smitten feelings sort of dissolve into something else. A fondness; and a wish to protect that grew like a white hot fire in his belly.
âYeah, sure sunshine, mâgonna kick yer ass this time!â
âHaha, yeah right!â
And he swore to himself, then and there, that heâd do his damnedest to protect them; even if that protection came from the sidelines.
A/N: And back to fluff. â„ I struggled with the prompt for today, so you get a smidge of both
Summary: Dino is about to have his work life, and his family become one. Ainât the first time, isnât the last time either.Â
Characters: Dino Ghiranze, Charlie Ghiranze [Uncle], Vyv Dorden, Coctura Arlund
Day: 4
Prompt: Work Life + Family Reunion
Warnings: Light Swearing
Wordcount: 862
When the days started growing shorter, he knew he was about to get busy. Very busy. And not just with his startup business either. His connections from his old Reporter days were about to get busy too. Heâd see to that. Something told him he needed to have every single person on their toes, no matter if they owed him favors or not.
âHey Vyv!â
âAh, Mr. Ghiranze, good to hear from you!â Vyv chuckled into his phone, as he propped it near his chin. âWhat can I do for ya?â
âWell Mr. Dorden, I am in need of a couple favors that ya owe me.â
Vyv snorted softly into the phone, fanning his face with his hand. âYouâve gotta be kiddinâ me. I paid you back all those favors from when you worked with the Meteorââ
âVyv,â Dino cut him off with a deep sigh. âListen, I know ya think that your debt is paid, but I need those favors. You honestly didnât think I forgot about all those times I went behind enemy lines for ya did ya?â
âUhhh...W-well no, but you didnât ever get me those pictures!â
âI had a very nice young blond friend do that for me, ya know, Iâve seen each an every picture heâs provided ya. Donât think I donât read the shit I send ya Vyv. I gotta make sure your keepinâ true to your word in getting the truth out there, after all.â
Vyv was quiet for a moment before he sighed. âSo, youâre going to play this like your old man did?â
Dino took a deep breath and let it out slowly, calming down the sudden bit of rage he felt in his gut. âNah, not at all Mr. Dorden. Cause if I was, thereâd be a guy there, tryinâ to break your fingers compared to me askinâ ya nicely over the phone for what ya owe me.â
Vyv swallowed hard enough that Dino could hear it.
âNow, you and I both know, I ainât nothinâ like the olâ man, and I am also very willinâ to look past the fact that ya tired to compare me to him. So, how bout you do me those favors ya owe me, and Iâll let bygones be bygones and not suddenly show up in Lestallum to have a lilâ...heart to heart.â
âWell, in that caseâŠâ Vyv gave off a soft nervous laugh. âWhat can I do for ya Kid?â
âGive me every single contact ya got. Donât care where theyâre from, or how old it is. I want names, numbersâwhatever. And make sure your still willinâ to print information that I send you. I have a feelinâ your paper is gonna become quite the source of information...â
Vyv pulled his phone from his ear to stare blankly at it a moment, before he pressed it against his shirt, wiping the sweat off the screen before bringing it back up to his ear. âSeriously? Thatâs all you want?â
âYep.â Dino said with a smirk. âNow, that wasnât so hard was it Vyv?â
âNo,â Vyv agreed with a slight smirk of his own. âGuess not. Iâll send the information to you before the day ends.â
âAppreciate it.â and Dino ended the call with another sigh.
âSo, Kid, goinâ back into the old business are ya?â
âTch, noâŠâ Dino huffed softly, looking over at Charlie. âJust gonna use the tools and what not I know of to help out is all. And youâre worse than Vyv...stop callinâ me Kid!â
Charlie chuckled softly. âWhatever ya say, Boss.â
Dino rolled his eyes and huffed. âBoss...tch, there was a moniker I didnât wanna take up again.â
âMaybe not, but as ya say, itâs for the greater good yeah?â
âYeah...now then, ya still got those hunters out there that are willinâ to fetch stones still for me right?â
Charlie blinked. âYa canât seriously mean that not only are ya gonna be an informant, but youâre gonna continue to make bangles and baubles?â
âI plan on beinâ very busy Charlie. Gotta keep people safe by any means necessary.â
Charlie smiled fondly at that. âAlright, thatâs your call Boss, but remember,â he then moved closer, gently patting his hand on Dinoâs shoulder. âDonât forget to lean on the rest of your family now, yeah?â
Dino turned his head enough to look up into the Mother of Pearl, noticing that the ushers and the waitstaff paused to look over at him, give a bow of their head and a smile. Coctura herself even bowed her head a little and giggled when he blushed.
âOh for fuck sake,â Dino huffed, but couldnât stop the smile that pulled at the corners of his mouth. âWill ya knock it off?!â
âCâmon Kid,â Charlie teased with a soft chuckle in his voice. âThe Familyâs glad to have ya back is all.â
âTch, the lot of ya are actinâ like this is some sort of...reunion.â
âWell, in a way...I sâpose it is.â
Dino rolled his eyes and heaved a small sigh as he smiled. âWhatever, câmon. Roll your sleeves up. Weâre gonna make everyone remember the Ghrianze name one way or another.â

A/N: This one hurt me... Iâll just say Iâm sorry now.
Summary: Dino gets asked if he has any regrets in his life. He doesnât have many, but one stands out before all others.
Characters: Dino Ghiranze, Ardyn Izunia
Day: 3
Prompt: Risks / Regrets
Warnings: Character Death
Wordcount: 536
âTell me, do you have any regrets?â
Dino was surprised by the question, his head tilting to the side a little as he pressed his lips into a flat line. He was quiet, pensive even before he clicked his tongue.
âWell, yeah. Sure as everyone does. Thereâs things I wish I could change, do better. Things I wish I could have prevented knowinâ they were cominâ. Ya know, same as any human doesâŠâ
âIs that so?â
Dino let off a soft chuckle, pushing his hands into his front pockets. âEveryone regrets somethinâ. Either a choice they made, or somethinâ that they did to someone else. I ainât meaninâ stuff as kids, where youâre testing the waters to see what ya can get away with. Iâm meaninâ things in your later years, knowing that the choice ya make weighs heavily on others.â
âAh, I see...and if you were given the chanceââ
âIf what I knew now, I knew then? Yeah. Probably would have done some things a lot different. But, sadly, whatâs done is done. And sometimes, even what ya think is best, hurts someone else along the way.â
âBut would I change everything? Nah,â Dino smirked at the slight brow lift he got. âWhat? Ya canât be seriously tellinâ me that everyone told ya theyâd change everything.â
âHonestly you have been the first to say some. Not all.â
âAh,â Dino hummed and was unable to keep the smile off his face at that one. âWell, guess leave it to the little guy to surprise ya huh?â
âPerhapsâŠâ
âMnn,â Dino hummed and let his eyes glance down briefly, then back up at the manâs face. âGuess my time is about done here, huh?â
âIâm afraid so.â
âAh...â Dino sighed heavily, bringing a hand up to rub it slowly against the back of his neck before he smirked. âYa know what, Iâll tell ya right now, thereâs one thing I regret, more than anything else.â
âOh? Do tell Mr. Ghiranze.â
âI never said, to those I cared about most that I loved them. Not recently anyway.â Dino sighed then pulled his hand out of his pocket to clench his hands into fists. âAnd that, I guess, knowinâ honestly, that they wonât know just how much I doâŠis my biggest regret.â
âReally? Not fame? You did seem to be trying to make quite a name for yourself with your pieces.â
âIâd rather be remembered for the fact I gave a shit, then some bit of metal and stone on someoneâs arm.â
âYou surprise me. Mr. Ghiranze.â
Dino snorted out a laugh. âYouâre a formal guy till the end, huh Chancellor?â
Ardyn smirked slightly, his gaze regarding Dino for a moment before he moved swiftly forward. âI am, till the bitter endââ
Dino inhaled sharply as pain ripped through his abdomen, feeling unable to make a sound other than a soft painfilled grunt as grey eyes met gold. Dino scowled at the look of judgement the Chancellor had giving him; was giving him. He resisted the urge to cry out at what felt like liquid fire crawling just under his skin, burning him away.
Changing him.
ââas you were one to hide behind a facade, werenât you, Mr. Ghiranze.â
Summary: Dino notices that the group arrives with two younger people in tow, and the mood is somber to say the least. Well, we canât have that now can we.Â
Characters: Dino Ghiranze, Noctis Lucis Caelum, Prompto Argentum, Gladiolus Amicitia, Ignis Scientia, Iris Amicitia, Talcott Hester, Coctura Arlund
Day: 5Â
Prompt: Time of Need / Soft Side
Warnings: One Curse word
Wordcount: 1601
Dino was seated at a table in at the Mother of Pearl, lightly picking at his meal. The air felt off today, even though there wasnât a single cloud in the sky. The rainy season was a few months out yet; so a change in the weather couldnât be the reason. Till he noticed a very familiar group walking up the boardwalk. They were quiet, somber. And black seemed a fitting color for their moods.
Setting his cutlery down he watched them make their way to Cocturaâs station, with two young ones in tow. The youngest, a boy from the looks of things at this distance, walked with his eyes to the ground. That didnât sit well with him and he took a deep breath as he felt his gut sort of flip. He knew that look, that posture. He walked the same way whenâshaking his head gently to clear it of thoughts, he flagged down an usher, and spoke in hushed tones before he got up from his seat and made his way over.
âAnd what have we here?â Dino asked softly, a gentle smile on his face.
The boy looked up at him, then away.
âH-Hey Dino,â Prompto spoke softly, then gently rubbed the back of his neck a little. âWeâwe uhââ
âNah, donât sweat it Kid, I ainât lookinâ for stones at the moment,â Dino looked over at the young girl, who met him with a small smile. âAnd whatâs your name pretty lady?â
âIris,â she said with a soft giggle then smiled a bit more genuinely when Dino took her hand and gave it a shake. âYouâre...Dino...the jeweler right?â
Dinoâs brows shot up, and he dramatically clutched his chest. âSix, she knows me as a jeweler and not some shady asshole.â
âHey,â Gladio grumbled softly. âMind the language will ya?â
âAh yeah yeah, sorry, force of habit with the company I usually keep, yâknow?â Dino gave Gladio a cheeky grin when he got a roll of the eyes in reply and gave Iris a wink when he heard her laugh. âSo, what brings ya to the Quay?â
âA small stop before making our way to Cape Caem,â Ignis chimed in. âWe thought the atmosphere here might...lift spirits a little.â
Dino looked down again to the young boy whoâd yet to look up at him again. âI see. Well, Iâm thinkinâ I know just the thing. Why donât the group of ya join me? Ya hungry?â
âWe wouldnât want to imposeââ
âYa ainât imposinâ if I invite ya now are ya?â Dino cut off Ignis gently.
ââNo, I suppose weâre not.â
Dino gave a gentle nod of his head and gestured to the large table he was sitting at. He glanced over at Noctis and frowned just a little. He too, was much like the young boy, unable to look anyone in the eye; as if he was guilty. Well this wouldnât do at all. Leaning over Cocturaâs station a moment he said something to her quietly, causing her to blink then smile and nod her head. Dino then moved to lead them over to his table.
âRight then, have a seat,â Dino said with a charming smile, pulling out the seat for Iris, who thanked him as she sat down. He did the same for the young boy. âHere ya go, Little Bambino.â
Dino smiled softly as he got a soft thank you. Well, that was a start. He then nodded to the Usher heâd whispered to earlier, who smiled and approached the table.
âNow then, order anythinâ ya like off the menu, donât care what it is, itâs my treat.â
âWait, what?â Noctis finally lifted his head from looking at his hands, surprised at what Dino had said.
âYa heard me. Anything ya like.â
âWhoa...DudeâŠ?â Prompto breathed softly looking over at Ignis.
âWhat brought this on?â Gladio asked softly, a brow lifting a little.
âCâmon, a guy canât treat his friends to somethinâ after all the hard work theyâve been doinâ for him? Yer kidding me, right?â Dino smirked a little, and sat down next to the young boy.
Turning his head towards him, Dino watched as Iris gently leaned over, and nudged him a little. The boy shook his head and pressed his lips into a thin line as he looked back down at his hands. He heard Iris sigh a little as she gently grabbed his hand, gave it a squeeze then drew back.
âYouâll have to forgive Talcott, heââ Iris began
âNah, Doll. There ainât nothinâ to forgive,â Dino watched Talcott blink up at him and he gave him a gentle smile before looking back at the table. âNow then, take a look at the menu and order somethinâ. Donât make me order for yaâŠâ
At first, the group was quiet around the table, but as the visit went on, their voices grew along with their laughter. Dino was sure his gentle teasing of everyone around him is what started to bring Talcott out of his shell, and he could have sworn he saw a thankful smile from Gladio when Talcott started to laugh.
It was then the cat from the boardwalk jumped up onto Dinoâs lap and meowed. Loudly.
âAh, and who said that ya could come up like that without an invite? Huh?â
The cat meowed again as it got up on its hindquarters and promptly pushed its head up and under Dinoâs chin, causing him to grunt. Â He didnât move, and the cat repeated the action, meowing louder at him.
âYer gonna fall off ya doofy feline,â Dino grumbled but smiled fondly as the cat pushed its face up to his and nuzzled its muzzle against his nose causing Dino to squint a moment before he had to move his hand to catch the cat as it almost fell off his lap with a loud meow of surprise.
âWhat did I tell ya? Dummy.â Dino chuckled softly as he made sure the cat was now comfortably sitting on his lap, and gave a gentle rub of its ears.
âIs...is he yours?â
Dino looked over at Talcott and smiled. âNah, heâs kinda everybodyâs around here. Anyone thatâs willinâ to listen to his sad little meow that heâs hungry is his best friend.â
âOh yeah, we know.â Gladio chuckled softly.
âShut up.â Noctis huffed and crossed his arms.
âHaha even had to have the fish cooked he caught him.â Prompto said with a smile.
âMnn, thatâs my fault if Iâm beinâ honest,â Dino chuckled softly, and leaned over towards Talcott. âI spoil this guy worse than Noct ever thinks he could.â
âI heard thatâŠâ Noctis said with a huff, but a bit of a smile pulled the corner of his mouth upwards.
Talcott chuckled. âWhatâs.. Whatâs his name?â
âMmn just Cat. He ainât decided anything I call him he likes so...â
âHeâsâheâs pretty, can I pet him?â
âSure thing Little Bambino, but Iâll even do ya one better,â Dino gave Talcott a wink and gently picked the cat up from his lap, and set him on Talcottâs. Coctura then came up behind Talcott, setting down a small plate of cooked fish.
âItâs not the catâs normal meal,â Coctura said with a smile. âBut with as spoiled as he has been the last few daysâŠâ and she shot Dino a look.
âHey! Ainât right if he wastes away out there now is it?!â
Talcott couldnât help but laugh softly as he gave the cat a gentle pet behind the ears, then laughed again as the cat turned and smushed his face up into his own much like he had to Dino.
âAh there, see. He likes ya.â Dino said with a soft fond smile.
âI...I can feed him, right?â Talcott asked softly.
âCourse ya can Bambino. Put a bit in your hand at a time...â
Talcott smiled and couldnât help but laugh as the cat started to eat the bits of fish from the palm of his hand. âTickles.â
Once the cat had finished its treat, Ignis spoke softly. âI do suppose that we should be on our way.â
Talcott pouted a little. âAww...well, thank you Mr. Gheer--uh--Girrââ
âHaha, Dinoâs fine Bambino.â and he reached over to gently ruffle Talcottâs hair causing him to smile.
âIt was nice to meet you.â Iris said with a smile as she and the others also rose from their seats.
âNice to meet ya too Doll, mâsure Iâll be seeinâ ya again sometime.â
âR-Really?â Talcott asked, then giggled as the cat nuzzled against his cheek before he set him down. âWe can come back and visit?â
âSure, long as itâs safe nâall. Who knows, I gotta feelinâ that itâll be me that comes to visit youse guys in Caem.â
Talcott smiled to that and then started to follow Iris talking excitedly about their next visit. Dino smiled, gently pushing his hands into his pockets only to get a gentle nudge on his shoulder.
âHeyâŠâ Gladio spoke softly. âThanks for that.â
âHuh? For what?â
âFor making him feel like it wasnât his faultâŠâ Noctis sighed. âHeâHe needed that.â
