Kishiryujin
The trend of remolding the show’s T-Rex into another dinosaur for the movie continues, this time with what I assume to be a Ceratosaurus. With the ability to pull parts from multiple Kishiryu to construct something, I was kind of hoping for something that utilized the armor-up mechanics and add to my growing pile of dinosaur-themed building blocks, but I can’t be upset with what we got as it is a good remold. It looks cool, has enough remolded parts to make it distinct, and comes with two new mini-Kishiryu.
To specify, the remolded parts include the upper portion of the head, the tip of the tail, and the dinosaur arms. The new hands even have the same hexagonal shape and diameter as those of the Megazords, allowing them to hold weapons (which can be seen on Double Knuckle and Five Knights). Then there’s the Cobrago, both of which are the same mold with different colored eyes and utilize the same plus and minus port setup as Triken and Ankyrose’s heads.
The only downside to having another main torso is that you can’t use every part anymore without making a weird centaur thing out of the two of them.
Overall, it’s a cooler version of Tyramigo, but I can’t help but feel that if the movie toy was just a $10 set of the two Cobrago and new Ryusoul I would have been just as happy. If you’re waiting until the end of the season to pick everything up on discount, I’d suggest Dinomigo over Tyramigo if color doesn’t play a part in your decision.
I’m already running out of display room, and there’s three more left...
