Ooh the askbox meme is interesting! But only one prompt right, otherwise anxiety? :) My favourite book for bad moods is "The Bell Jar" by Sylvia Plath. I love how simple the narrative is, and the idea of being in the bell jar is fascinating. We've all been there at some point, especially if you're an introvert (like me) & have both voluntary & involuntary moments of feeling stale & disconnected. It's not a happy book but it makes me feel better to have someone else articulate some of my thoughts
Oh yay, I was hoping it would be interesting to do! Sometimes I search all Friday night for a fun askbox meme but last night I thought I’d make one of my own :)
Yes, one per ask please. OMG I forgot to write that hahaha, thank you for thinking of me, you’re the kindest!
o0o0o0o I am basically the opposite – when I get into that space I feel that reading something that reinforces the heavy, sinking, claustrophobic feeling only makes it worse. I go into a spiral and it takes me longer to find normalcy.
One of the things my husband has helped me with is identifying when I’m on the edge of one of these episodes. Over the years he’s learnt to watch for certain signs and now he’s taught me as well. So when I feel myself slipping I do the exact opposite of you – I bury myself in something that cheers me up. IPKKND, of course, and this blog, but also the BBC Pride and Prejudice and a few books and stuff.
I’ve never read The Bell Jar, I’ve always been a bit too afraid it would reflect how I feel too accurately!! So I really am the opposite of you!!
