the implication was definitely there. daniel realised he had feelings and went to london to see betty. and he asked her out to dinner. but there was no clarification about if it was a date or just dinner between friends, and there really wasn’t any concrete resolution in regards to betty’s feelings - if she felt more or not. so basically the shippers said ‘they’re going on a date’ and the non-shippers said ‘they’re just friends’ and it wasn’t really confirmed either way. we deserved better. they deserved better. they should’ve officially become canon.
