ive been obsessed with this term ‘decontextualization’ and i have no clue where it came from. but i just had the realization its just something im interested in: ive categorized it as the obsession with creating work conceptually and removing all context that the average viewer rejects it, refuses to try to understand it - pissing people off. deconstruction has always interested me, dont know why probably because i enjoy remaining a mystery specially through my conceptualized art. but ive come across lucy lippard - and her obsession with dematerialization - kinda the same thing ive been into just like from the 60s. a quote from her reads: "since i first wrote on the subject in 1967, it has often been pointed out to me that dematerialization is an inaccurate term, that a piece of paper or a photograph is as much an object, or as “material,” as a ton of lead. granted. but for lack of a better term i have continued to refer to a process of dematerialization, or a deemphasis on material aspects (uniqueness, permanence, decorative attractiveness)."  i believe the internet, the cloud and our digital art world serves as this platform unexplored to its potential. the low (conceptual) quality of work floating in the cloud today is not an accurate representation of this. im seeking a foundation for a possible theory - looking for anyone to add their insight? not sure how long ill go without some sort of interaction here but thats perfectly okay just know, im open.
