Weirdly, Mimi’s room has similar, if not exactly the same wall paneling in Hikarigaoka (during the Digimon Adventure film) and in Odaiba (only during Our War Game). But it’s solid pink during the Adventure anime. Again, (as with the Yagami residence) this is probably due to the animation teams being different. Oh, also the bedspread is the same--I just realized this.

Okay, the Tachikawas live in New York in 02, so they’ve just gotta have the Statue of Liberty up on their wall. Love it. Love this weird family.

Where exactly was Mimi living when she moved back to Japan during tri? I honestly don’t think it was the same place. I was under the impression her parents were not with her and she was only there temporarily because she wanted to be where the Digimon action was. I feel like if her parents knew Digimon shenanigans were afoot again, they wouldn’t have supported that move...

“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” The Tachikawa family is a very expressive bunch, in fashion, decoration, and in personality. Ever since I saw this motivational artwork on Mimi’s wall in tri., I’ve wondered if she’s using it to remind herself to stay simple and stay focused. Like, she’s using it to remind herself not to get carried away with her decorating because she’s only there temporarily. The pile of stuffed animals surrounding her Chosen Children photo is really, really wonderful though. Because if I were Mimi and I constantly had to move based on my parents’ Digimon-induced anxiety, stuffed animals and a photo of my best friends would absolutely be my most precious items.

I hope she named that little stuffed seal Gomamon. And when she inevitably has to move back to New York after tri, or to a more temporary residence somewhere else, maybe she’ll give that little seal to Gomamon and he names it “Gomamon 2, the Seal-quel”. Gomamon 2, The Seal-quel will hide in Jou’s bag and become Gomamon’s eyes and ears during those dates with his totally real girlfriend. This... isn’t about the Tachikawas anymore...

The design of Sora’s bedroom in tri was stunning. I loved the scenes in the first episode where we see her bustling around in her room, because it gives some personality insight into Sora that we didn’t get previously. She is such a private person, so seeing her room as the first scene with Sora in it was an extremely memorable part of tri. for me.

I don’t really have anything funny to say about the Takenouchi home decor, because it’s all very lovely and traditional. Sora has wonderful taste in her own bedroom’s decor and I care SO MUCH about her interest in design and fashion. Actually I care about everything Sora related and I love her very very much  ♡♡♡
