What makes Link Link (and Zelda Zelda) is their spirit and will and determination and courage and wisdom etc, you can’t handle them being literally reskinned (when they have been for decades?)).

And why are you so boring? 😭 TotK even recently introduced the idea of not only hybridization with Sonia and Rauru but also non-Hylians/full Hylians as rulers if you wanna take “descendant” and “blood” at face-value/common understanding.

If you understand it “less directly” as some other peoples do, especially in their titles: Blood of the Goddess and Spirit of the Hero, that narrow mindedness makes less sense! Don’t know what Ganon’s called but I reeeeaaaaallly doubt he’s come from the same damn line of Gerudo (especially since he gets many killed). Zelda is the Blood of the Goddess herself, that means regardless of genetic ancestry, she is Hylia’s blood and with as many upheavals Hyrule’s had especially with its long history, I’m extremely dubious that it’s the same line there either. In any of the trio. That’s just nonsensical really. Regardless of TotK an obvious change of monarchy, if you know anything about history, it’s that royal families get deposed in one way or another. And Link, I get the feeling everyone’s just accepted that he’s just gonna always be some soldier boy despite lineage—except for OoT and TP, again leaning on common understandings of the words.

Besides, it wouldn’t be bad to have a change like that once in a while. Dark skinned/brown Zelda is something many would apparently LOVE to have if fanart and fics are anything to go by.
