I was in some neighborhood yesterday and this cute little boy (about 8years old) murmuring as he walks up to me, stopped right in front of me, I had to stop too.. He was talking and smiling as he stared me in the face, 'look at her face, who did this to this aunty..., Is it paining you or is it paining her..(didn't hear him welk at some point). I couldn't help but smile and then started laughing as I pondered what could be going on in his mind, has he got an experience with a lived one...., he didn't laugh but continued talking (it was on for about 2mins), then a marketing tricycle drive by and he ran after the it forgetting completely about me... My lesson as I have continued to: Children will always be children, they act and behave according to the teachings they get and when they are not taught, they live simply as humans. Who takes action of kids to heart? He probably was seeing one with a white patches, white lashes and brow for the first time... He ran off forgetting I was there.. Sometimes we worry and bother about something that is almost non-existence, yes he stared and made comments, but that ends there, I saw simply a curious boy... It neither added nor removed anything from me.., I had a good laugh. I understand it's mindset, we all are not at that same level of acceptance and reception, but it will really help us when we start working on us one step at a time... Children act accordingly to the teachings they get, they react to adults reactions in their own way, they learn from us, they are often innocent, they always stare because thats all they know to do. Lets teach them!!! #teachthekids #differenceisbeautiful #vitiligo #whitepatches #appearance #appearanceisdiverse #bodyconfidence #skincondition (at Ikorodu, Lagos State)
