@die-forellex replied to your link âThere Is a Hidden Epidemic of Doctors Abusing Women in Labor, Doulas...â
girl fucking truth gdi. I know it is not an option for everyone obviously but I was so grateful to have a birth attended by midwives in a hospital. Women are so abused by obstetrics. We have been for decades.
you know, iâm a feminist and itâs 2018, i thought i knew what i was going into, i thought because i had been with the same obgyn and the same department for well over a year i knew what to expect. i can remember the exact moment i realized i had absolutely no agency and no voice at my own birth. i completely shut down. i have never been like that before in my life. protect yourselves! get a doula! write down every name, write down what they did. make them sign your birth plan. donât try to be easy going because i was and it was a shitshow.Â

I JUST REALIZED. CAN YOU WRITE MARCEL/ANNIE PLEAAAAASE
Yes *^*
Notes
MarcAni. High School AU.Â
1003 words.Â
They call him Prince Marcel behind his back. The girls find him charming. The guys think heâs a total bro. And Annie? She doesnât trust him at all.
No one can be that nice. When people are as nice as Marcel, theyâre either hiding something or they want something from you. She canât decide which it is right now, but she wonât be fooled. The rest of the girls can say heâs cute all they want, but she refuses to blush and stammer when he shoots her a smile.
âIsnât Marcel such a sweetheart?â Pieck sighs as she slides into her seat next to Annie. She beams when Marcel walks in, waving back when he waves to her. âDonât you think itâs strange he doesnât have a girlfriend yet?â
Annie pretends she doesnât see Marcel when he smiles at her, digging around in her backpack for a pencil so she doesnât look like sheâs ignoring him on purpose. âArenât you dating his brother?â Annie asks.
âYup!â Pieck says cheerfully. âBut that doesnât mean I canât admire a guyâs looks, especially when heâs as adorable as Marcel.â
Annie doesnât say anything, just rolls her eyes. She shouldnât be surprised. Pieck thinks everyone is cute after all. When she finds Pieck eyeing her with a strange look, she frowns. âWhat is it?â
âNothing,â Pieck says. She traces a figure eight on her desk, pursing her lips the way she does when sheâs about to say something Annie might find annoying. âI think itâs just strange how much you dislike him. You never say it, but I can tell. Heâs never been anything but nice though, so I donât understand why you donât like him so much.â
Annie shrugs. âIt doesnât make sense for someone to be that nice to everyone for no reason,â she says. âPassing out the math books all of the time when we could just grab them by ourselves? Remembering birthdays? And why does he have to ask how Iâm doing all of the time?â
Pieck coughs, trying to cover up her laughter after hearing her friendâs ridiculous reasons. âWell, you let him get you a book anyway, donât you? And thereâs nothing wrong with saying happy birthday. Maybe he just has an impeccable memory. And, I donât know, maybe he genuinely wants to know if youâre having a good day. Itâs not that big of a deal, Annie.â
âWhatever,â Annie grumbles. Pieck will probably find any negative words she has against Marcel to be ridiculous. âWhat about the notes then? How does he have time to write notes to everyone?â
Her friend blinks at her, confused. âNotes?â Pieck repeats. âDo you get them every day?â
Annie nods. âEvery day that I see him. He always slips one to me when he gives me my book,â Annie says. Theyâre beginning to pile up ridiculously in her locker, but she doesnât know why she doesnât just throw them all away. It just seems too cruel, she thinks. She might not find this habit of his to be charming, but itâs a bit mean to throw all those notes away.
âIâve gotten notes from him beforeâŚbut only once in a while, like when Pokko was too much of a chicken to ask me out himself. Marcel would slip me a note to let me know Pokko wanted to meet me somewhere after school,â Pieck muses. She looks at Annie curiously. âWhat kind of notes does he give you?â
Itâs the first time that itâs occurred to Annie that perhaps not everyone receives a note from Marcel. Is he trying especially hard to win her over? The thought of it makes something in her chest flutter oddly, so she banishes from her mind as quickly as possible.
âOh, just normal stuff like telling me I gave a good presentation in history or welcoming me back after the break,â Annie says, but her voice is growing quiet and sheâs beginning to mumble the way that it does when sheâs flustered. âThatâs normal, isnât it?â
Pieck hums, a gleeful smile on her face. âI think maybe,â she says in a sing-song voice, âyouâre getting a little extra attention from our schoolâs prince charming.â
Annieâs about to tell Pieck that sheâs being ridiculous, that thereâs no way that would ever happen, but someone sets something on her desk with a large thud, making her jump.
âShit, sorry, Annie!â Marcel says, his eyes wide. âI didnât think those would be so loud!â
Pieck just sits there, a knowing look on her face. âItâs okay, Marcel. Annieâs just a little jumpy today,â Pieck says sweetly. âItâs very nice of you to get the books for us today.â
âItâs no problem. Itâs a hassle to walk over there when people crowd over, so I might as well just grab your books when I get mine too. Save you guys the trip.â Marcel smiles. Annieâs never noticed how nice and straight his teeth are, or how the edges of his eyes crinkle when he smiles.
Annie looks at her calculus book and sure enough thereâs the corner of a folded-up note tucked into the pages. When she looks up again, Marcelâs already walking away. Still, something makes her stand up and call out his name.
âMarcel!â She winces when she realizes her voice is a little too loud.
He turns around, surprised that sheâs called to him. A few other people in the class have turned to look too.
âUm.â She tugs at the sleeve of her cardigan awkwardly, trying hard not to fidget and ignoring the blush thatâs rising in her cheeks. âI just wanted to sayâŚthanks. For getting my textbook.â
Marcel looks puzzled for a second, but he bursts into a dazzling smile and itâs now that she understands why people refer to him as a prince. âYouâre welcome, Annie.â
Pieck observes her friend as she sits back down again. âSo,â Pieck says, clearly amused. âDo you still not like him? Because, if you ask me, it kind of looks likeâŚâ
Was watching the reveal and couldn't help but think of like, the angst that scene would have if it were like in your berumika fic. CAN YOU WRITE BERT ANGST IN THAT VERSE LIKE PLS I WANT THEIR ANGER. *dies*
OMG Iâm so flattered you thought of my fic. I still donât have plans of writing any more in that verse especially since Iâm working on something else right now, but maybe in the future. ^.^

Huh. What criteria are we using? What fandom are we talking about? How can you expect me to choose?!!!
Seriously though, if I was to pick one fic that stands above the rest of them in regards to grammar, style, characterization and a sense of internal pride upon writing it.... It was a tough choice but the winner is:
Ladyâs Prerogative - itâs a SanSan fic about the second day of the Handâs Tourney.
7. Whatâs the fic you most want to continue (unfinished or no)?
Honestly, too many to list. Basically all of my WIPs from the past seven years. *winces* So many good fics, so many good ideas, all languishing in the limbo of my imagination.
